Is the prize important?
Hell, yeah. Poetry writing is hard work.

I came from Alabama with a banjo in my knee
I'm going to Luzianna t'get it removed surgically
(I don't carry it around all the time, but I promise I will make even more spectacle of myself sometime soon.)

For those who care about prizes, I know that the work of the winners of the last poetry and short story competitions were published in the Berlin Event booklet. Have you spoken with Kim about this regarding the Edmonton booklet, Michael? The winners of those comps didn't care about prizes, so I don't know what the karmic impact of that might have been. I know that one wrote for love and the other for delight.

Manna - is this the standard to which we must aspire to have a chance of winning this competition?
Alan Alda - isn't the glory sufficient?

Manna~
So you play the banjo and sing? Anjani is taking requests for songs and poems?
Liz~
Having this contest after-the-fact proposed as included in the Edmonton booklet, considering its pure silliness sounds like a Bad idea. But you're the expert.
damellon~ nevermind.

ha! the voice sings "me and my gal", so that's conclusive that the singer is male.

I thought I answered this elsewhere. I can now clarify that having spoken to Manna, he has agreed to sing the winning poem whilst i accompany on my banjo.

Wading through self-promotion and nonsense has turned trying to find info on the contest painful...

Do you have to attend the gig in London to qualify?
Is a tiara involved?
Can we use derivatives of "soul"? Soul-searching, soul-searing, soul-train, etc...?
thanks,
Laurie

Ah. the olde disappearing post ploy
Thanks for the answers. So, you are keeping the 'prize' a secret? Whisper it in my ear, I won't tell anyone...
