I think when the series is deemed complete, we might name it "No Fair! Mickey Started It."
(I didn't think I did enough underlining in my previous post.
I kind of like how it's taking on the look of ruled paper.
Yes, Mrs.Coolidge, I will write my spelling words neatly five times each.
Oh, that silly demon. She comes and she goes, you know.)

I prefer the abridged version

OFT

Michael is obviously going for unabridged version. But I think OFT has more intensity

Love the underlining, Manna. Ha. Ruled paper, of course... ruled paper for the Ruling Goddesses 8) .

Love the INTENSITY, Paula ~ Absolutely! Often is faaaaar too weak by comparison.

Hi Paula ~

I know there's a Goddess of War... and I believe a Greek one at that. I wonder if there's a Greek Goddess of Profanity or, more eloquently said... Greek Goddess of the Profane... and, if so, given your punchy contributions [here with "OFT"... and elsewhere], if The Gang of Goddesses might welcome you amongst them for the upcoming Fall edition. The only glitch might be that you may have to use some profanity from time to time, but between now and whenever that might be, you could always practice at home; and doesn't every self-respecting Gang need such a character? With your Study-at-Home program, who knows, on the day of your calling, you could be SO well practiced, that you could just go forth unfettered and do it with aplomb. A plum. A puck. A plume.

I do know I have the right to invite; but don't know if demi-goddesses get to vote. If I should find myself at the ballot box, however, my vote is yours... or your vote is mine. Whichever is the way you say it... I'll put a BIG BLACK X next to "Paula."

Manna, I told myself I'd give up writing nonsense on this board some time ago. I just had a brief relapse.

Paula, you wouldn't be swearing again, would you   ?

Bugger, who let One_M out again? Was it you, Paula? And is the title part of the piece?

I have wandered oft
with my short side
interlaced

I dunno, too long now, d'you think? Does it mirror O_M's real life? Does the underline work?

This 'Bird' thingie, Diane.... what is it and should we all know about it? It's not like the ferret, is it? Damellon, is the String Wizard available to help us or do we have another mercenary on our hands? Hi Lizzy. Oh nearly forgot, heard your song the other night, Blonde M -- 'it's just another manic Monday, I wish was Sunday, cos that's my funday....'

Well, I can surely attest to the undeniable, incontrovertable, obvious truth that this is a no-nonsense thread, as are all threads where our dear "God" (snicker, snort) posts. How dare you sully it with your ignorant, vapid, featherbrained analysis of the production of sand? The most sacred, venerated, consecrated element of this universe?

usually I am interlaced
with wandering SAND

suddenly one summer
on hydra I shall dress
as burlesque SAND

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This, of course, is my perfectly transparent way of saying that no harm is done, you are forgiven, but I don't know how I know.

I'm not sure about overlapping these two works. But if we were to, how about

Suddenly one summer
On Hydra we shall dress
On the short side
As Burlesque s and (see! sand)
Wander lonely
As a cloud
That's lost it's way
Looking
Always looking
for a new poem

Isn't that just brilliant? I'm wasted in the day job. Should be bombarding the members poetry section a la Elawke.
Kind comments please - I'm vulnerable.

Personally, I feel you've done a fine job with the concept you've been given, Damellon. However, I really like the notion of a series... again; Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring. I feel each should be memorable in its own tight-lace top.

Perhaps, Sand might be incorporated into the Fall rendering; instead of shaking the dust ~ brushing the sand, from the barefeet of summer.

That's the demi-goddess line of reasoning, anyway. I love the idea of Sand, which always hearkens to the eternal. I feel the briefer, more concise statement piece will do it greater justice, however. Make memorization much easier, as well... for those who might recite.

A minor aside while I have you all here.........I was wondering if, in solidarity with Paula, we might have a synchronised swear fest, each of us taking a different thread or portioning out the threads between the volunteers, each to select there own preferred swear word (blast! would do for the faint hearted) which would be underlined, emboldened, italicised, and upper cased? It would keep the moderators busy for a while, repositioning them into Every F...ing thing Else. And if Jarkko gets wind of this we could offer to desist IF he posts our Goddesses (+ long robed Demi) picture with the Beautiful Losers ( and God aren't we beautiful?) We could follow with a mass apology of course (but let's keep that in reserve for the moment). Thoughts? But save the swear words.

Oh, my Goodness Goddess. Gracious Goddess Me. Splendid!!! It would be good to get it out of our Goddess and Demi-Goddess systems, wouldn't it... then, turn the territory over to the Quintessential Profanitor Paula.

We have several warm-up courses that some may take over the next week, with some advanced and accelerated ones available for a three-day weekend. Paula will probably opt for one of those. They're all in the Zeusian-approved and Celestial-Certified Z-Series, specifically formulated for the quick learner. [That ol' Zeus guy can be so prophetic at times, can't he? How did he know we might be needing one of these?]

Some of us may need the remedial course, however :( . As you'll recall, this latest-edition Series, which was only recently added to our roster, was soundly, miserably, and embarrassingly flunked by Gingermop and me. We still hold fast to those outdated methods such as decency and, in a pinch, sarcasm. She may be motivated to give it another go, though. Investment is half the battle. I'll give it a try, but I'm really tired of Dang and even more tired of classes... so may just give it the good ol' do-or-die, college try.

You'll see, though, that with these classes, within a very brief period of time, we will have left the f word in the cirrus clouds and vapour trails... on to bigger and better 8) .

If I may revisit the Sand issue for just a moment, think how beautiful it would blend with the papyrus.

Yes... a due negotiation with Jarkko for the photo op is definitely a Go on this!!

~ DG Lizzy giving her GD Input [whoops, sorry... you know I need practice; thought I'd give it a whirl  ~ and I've been just dying to reverse those  ]... I hate to make the sacrifice, but I guess I'll have use ZD from now on.

Lizzy, you surprise me. Is there a better word than that chosen by Paula? Tell me more. I agree with you that this would be a liberating experience.....on so many levels. Now I have to go and bathe in asses milk, or something. Don't close this thread without me.

Blonde Madonna - how much longer with the avatar? I have a little post-it positioned judiciously so that I don't have to look at it. No offence, of course. Might we take a poll? Would it make any difference? The String Wizard is out wizarding so haven't asked if there'll be a price to pay.....but there is with most things! Long time since we could live on love alone...but fond memories....

Christine - how goes the idle life? Sure Mr BM would oblige if you needed cheering up

Manna- are you on something? that we could all try?

Paula - what about it?

Oh, Chi-Goddess. I know your rank requires absolute submission, but I pledged to Paula eons ago that I would not reveal her Secret... so to Paula you must go. This was in the Pre-Goddessian Era, so I must honour my Paula Pledge.

I'm so sorry... :( ~ If she refuses to reveal, however, it's because she's made her executive decision to save it for another lifetime, and I just hold no sway with her on that... whatsoever.

Oh, ABSOLUTELY ~ LIBERATING!!!
