Just reread Dick's post - misunderstood on first reading - there are only ever going to be 100 of each, so the price rises as the popularity rises but the opportunity to buy diminishes. I thought the number of prints was going to rise with demand. Sorry.

Before you plan a trip to Manchester, see my post under News - Book of Longing/Blue Alert - Anjani's tour of Europe. These posts are overlapping.

Well, I guess I will have to make a drive to Toronto in the upcoming weeks...

Too bad about the prices. I was quite set on getting one of them, but $1500US+ is slightly more than I am willing to pay. I realize these are limited edition, signed and all, but still.... Lets face it, these are prints (albeit limited edition). For example, one can get a Chagall lithograph (which given the nature of the process, are more 'original' than these prints) for that sort of money. I don't mean to be offending anyone with these comments (not the curator, nor the artist himself). I just hope that a very significant portion of the proceeds goes to the artist that we all admire here.

Don't get me wrong, I _really_ like quite a few of these pieces (my favorite being First Snow and Parc du Portugal), and I cannot wait to see them at the Drabinsky Gallery this weekend. However, after some deliberation, a poster it will be for me :( .

Hi Pawel ~

Did you at least get a catalogue, as well? I'd have loved to have gotten a signed one, but settled for unsigned. By the time I finished showing it to whomever I thought might be interested on Hydra, it was bent sufficiently that I've now ordered a fresh copy. One to show, one to keep pristine. Will be getting by mail a signed poster. It was marvelous to walk down the stairs and be greeted by the colourful bird on the branch at the landing. I loved seeing Leonard's work in the virtual flesh. It was great to meet you in Toronto, too, Pawel.

Hi lizzytysh,

Yes, it was great to meet you (and others) in Toronto.
I opted for the unsigned catalogue, however I did end up ordering one of the prints :D ('still looking'). Can't wait for its arrival!

Ha-Ha. Oh, that's funny, Pawel. We won't mention 'famous last words,' will we  ? Meanwhile, congratulations on your upcoming print. If I could afford one, I'd be ordering, too.
