Tyger, Tyger burning bright
Will Lizzy make it to Hydra alright
Or will crisp come to crunch
And put her out ta lunch
Instead of taking a Mythos flight
Wait a min . . . I'm getting something . . . Oh, that's beautiful, what a lovely view . . . WoW . . . Oh, joy, oh, bliss, does it get any better than this?
Erp! Sorry. I got distracted by somebody channelling their naked body and I just had to take a deeeeep breath and then, Blip-zap!
No! It's a wrap. You're going! It's in the cards. A done deal. And, SweetStuff, you're also owing me-me-meanderthal-me (so, here's to the few who forgive the debts owed you, and the fewer who don't ever share; their loss, our gain, all's love when it ain't our pain). IOW, the first consultation is free; the rest will cost you an army and a leg-up on the loving cup.
I don't know for a fact; but, isn't Jack the Knife in Montréal? It's the same distance for him to drive as it is for me, Adam willing (that's my truck and no, I never heard that joke, Lizzy. Our big joke was about chickens, right?)
Man, have I got blinding migraine, being what Tom calls a metereopat (since there's no English word for the Croatian term I've adopted as my own). Mega-hurtz.
Saw Glass in concert in the seventies. He wouldn't let us applause after each number; and, he had already by then adopted LC mannerisms, if you ask me. His folding his hands in prayer, bowing, kinda lugubrious and sorta offensive. It was our moolah we'd ante'd up, after all. We could clap if we wanted, I thought; but, instead, I just left. And, I've not heard anything he's done since then so I wouldn't know his music if it pierced my soul. I'd not go to the concert, IOW. I'd go for the company. I'd love to meet you, Linda, Joe, Anne, and anybody else who cares to join us.
Dick asked about the Fisher Rare Book Library. It's at the corner of Harbord and Spadina, in the Robarts Library (where I had a mini-office working on my doctorate). I think you might want to telephone the University of Toronto and ask someone in charge about access. My papers are at McGill and even I have to make an appointment to see 'em so, they're highly secured environments.
The best restaurants? Well, it is my hometown, after all; so, I'm taking a moment now to say a little more since I won't be back for a few. Indian food? The Moghul at Bathurst & Bloor used to have a dish named after me since it was the hottest one they'd ever made and I didn't even need water.
There are some very fine ones in Yorkville, on the high-end of the scale, Le Trou Normand has amazing food. I like Switzer's, for deli, at Spadina & Dundas; and, for Mexican? Hernandoes Hideaway at Wellesley and Yonge Streets. I don't do Chinese. Used to like Sai Woo till I watched a cockroach crawl down the wall behind my Inamorato at the time and I didn't want to know where it ended its journey. I didn't say anything because I thought, given it was a break-up get-to-get, best let creepy crawlies find their own kind. (You get the pic.)
My numero-uno dreamaruno is for prime rib. I don't care where. Or pizza; but, there are a couple of wonderful places on Eglinton west of Yonge whose names I've forgotten. Used to be a very fine Thai restaurant in the theatre district where the Elgin is. On King, or Adelaide, or Wellington; damn, sizzzzzzlin' brain cells.
Again, The Victoria Hotel, right around the corner from the hospital in which I was born, St. Mike's, is the best lodging bet (though, I shall stay with my friend, Avrum; prolly Lizzy will, too, since we're both poverts).
I am going to be there if it's at all possible; wouldn't miss it for anything. Finally! I'd feel safe; none of you has ever threatened to punch out my teeth if I showed up (which is why I've never gone). I need my teeth :), especially when I'm swimming with the sharks where the line forms on the right.
Alright, blah-blah-blather. I have way too much energy in the morning, especially when the Ed. stops whining, L! Also, the hard-cover copies of Electra's Benison were just delivered by courier and I haven't opened the package but, to those of you whom I've promised author copies, they'll be hastely posted early next week. That's a promise!
Love, Bo
p.s. J1? I am making captures of what I'm seeing as peeps appear in the list. Tim? Green is good; but, guess what? Now, you're blue. Go figger8 . . .
