I have the DVD with this on..'In the Flesh'
Also have the audio cd of the show but I have to say that watching the dvd is very emotional.....especially towards the end when he does much of his solo stuff from 'Amused to Death'. Pink Floyd were never the same when they split.

I voted Tom Waits, which would be great to see, but I'd actually like to see Leonard do something with Trent Reznor.

I picked Mick Jagger only because it would be something new. Most of the other guys already have something to do with Leonard and I think people are undermining the oftentimes sullen and wonderful lyrical abilities of Mick Jagger. "Angie," "Wild Horses," and "You Can't Always Get What You Want" or some of the saddest songs ever written. I'm a big John Cale fan, and an even bigger Lou Reed fan, and I really dig Frank Zappa, even though he's the only deceased member on this poll (not to mention the most out-there choice), but for some Reason I think about them all and Mick is the only one that stands out to me as the most interesting combination with Leonard.

You make a good point, T. I was thinking about a collabloration between Rod Stewart & our LC for similar reasons. Rod has such an incredible, bluesy, warm, slightly over-the-top style and voice that I think they would contrast and compliment in interesting ways.

I voted Bob Dylan but I'd love to see him duet with Tom Waits ir Nick Cave. However Bono makes me want to puke, no offence to anyone who likes him.

I voted Waits, simply because I admire both of them, and Leonard's voice right now is, though not as... the only way I can safely say it is "Tom Waits...ie" as Tom Waits himself... is very similar to Tom's, and the fact that they started out the same way (very classically, Acoustic and Piano are quite similar to me ) and how they went to into similar things (a lot of synthisisars [it's late and I can't spell ] and some industrial music) they would make an excellent combination in my eyes...

I would love to hear the two of them sing any song from either of the 3 80s/90s Cohen albums (Various Positions, I'm Your Man, The Future)...


As for who ever voted "Bob Dylan"... had Dylan not sung back-up for a song in "Death of a Ladies Man"? I remember reading it somewhere, but I have not heard the album myself...

Yes, Dylan and Allen Ginsberg sang backup on that song. What a wonderful trio!!!

Yes, yes, yes... I just said all this. Bob Dylan and Allen Ginsberg (don't forget Allen now) did the backup vocals for "Don't Go Home With Your Hard-On." With Specter's insane wall-of-sound productions it's really nearly impossible to hear either of them, but if you pay attention close enough you'll hear this annoyingly high-pitched nasal voice during the chorus and I'm assuming it belonged to Dylan.

I think my cat would, too . Though, I've always like Dylan's annoyingly high-pitched nasal voice... how my cat and I can make such a departure, I'll never know.
