Old thread- but I'm just back from an Al Stewart show (in Vineland Ontario) - where he repeated much of this about Leonard - especially including the Montreal anecdote ("I'm waiting for Suzanne") - and saying Leonard's affirmation of his "In Brooklyn" line was one of the greatest compliments he had ever been paid.
Great singer from the oft overlooked British folk tradition - ala Roy Harper, Fairport Convention, Steeleyespan etc etc
