Just goes to show how people and their opinions vary

.
I also happened to hear a review and some excerpts from it yesterday, on my way to an appointment, and really enjoyed what I heard.

Lizzy, to use an Irish colloquialism - I'm taking the piss.
But the charts reflect very little!
Long time no hear,
oh dear, oh dear, oh dear!
That's my little verse for you!

Ah, I see, okay, Red Poppy.
And thanks for the verse,
Dear Sir...
That phrase seems to get a bit of mileage.
I was thinking it meant to go out and get drunk

A subtle difference her lizzy.
Taking the piss means sending someone up.
Going on the piss means getting drunk.
Pissed means being drunk.
A piss-artist is a messer.
An epistle is a piss-artist's letter (written while on the piss or pissed) to himself - I think I just made that one up. Did I? Yes I did.
That'll be 50 euro thanks ($40 will do however).

The last one is perfection

. Good make-up.
Is a "messer" someone who 'messes with' someone, like teasing or whatever?
Thanks for your clarifications... the check will be in the mail, as soon as I'm even with everyone else

Lizzy,
A piss artist is someone who has over-indulged on some alcoholic beverage and is messing about/talking rubbish while thinking they are "the bee's knees" (an authority on some topic)
Another one while we're at it is "a piss up" which is a party or heavy drinking session. A common description of an incompetant fellow is one who "couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery" ! The origin of the term relates to the beer drunk eventually ending up against a wall.
I think it's time to get away from this toilet humour and return to the topic in hand

Sorry, couldn't resist that one! Back to the new Dylan album now, which I will be getting soon.

Okay, Margaret, thanks

. I was about to get a for-sure on Red Poppy's message, until I noticed "sending someone up"
. So, now, is the latter about the same as a "wind-up"? Does Red Poppy, maybe, really like Dylan's new album and just seized this opportunity to do all that trashing? [We're working our way back to Bob...
]
That's a pretty graphic way of making the point of incompetence
.
The only way I can think of that we use the core word here is in talking about being angry with someone.

Regarding the comment above about Dylan hosting a successful radio show - so does Alice Cooper and, here in Canada, so do Randy Bachman, Kim Mitchell and Jeff Healey. So it must be either lucrative or good publicity. Now to my point; can you imagine Leonard hosting a radio show?!? The tone of the voice, the Zen-calm, the insights . . . .? I'm sure CBC would pick him up in a second. An idea for his new manager.

YEAH! Get BUSY, Leonard!?!
Seriously, I'd tune in and I know many others would, too...
and there'd be a lot of returns with first-time listeners.
