I wrote my comments on another/the other thread, about Steve's death, SWITZ. They seem fairly similar to yours. His death is very shocking and sad.

Oh strewth,

I'm still reeling from the latest Kush debacle. Seems that everytime we cross paths I 'jump the gun' and accuse him of something. Hope I'm not doing it now... We've all landed in our particular positions through chance and through planning. We are all Cohenites, but much, much more importantly we are human beings. Kush, if you read this, I didn't mean to ''ave a go' at you. I should have listened to my inner judgement of you as being a man of honour, a man of peace. I hope you are cool.

Now for this war against NON LOVE. It all starts on Sunday. Finally, we hit back! A Hand Holding Day has been arranged. It doesn't matter how small it is, or large. It falls on the 10th of September, a day before the 11th. The idea is this. You hold your own hands, or someone else's hand/s for ten minutes from 3 o'clock to 3.10. You can sing, remain in silence, recite poetry, burn candles/incense there are no restrictions bar one - you hold hands. Hand holding is a symbol of union. We shake hands. If you have no hands, we need you too. Hold feet! Kiss for 10. The understanding that you will be holding hands with many in your time zone should be gratifying. You are at One. I have contacted a few radio stations and forums, all to a luke warm reception. Please, our power here is word of mouth. Tell anyone you meet to hold hands this Sunday at 3. If you're wondering about our fight against NON LOVE and how this will help. Don't. The game is only beginning. We have nine innings to go...

Sincerely
Boss 8)

No worries Boss. Its not important.
And it will happen again - this entire forum is on an endless repeat cycle - both in the forward and in the backward direction. Everything that is said or done here at one time is always said or done again. and was said or done once before too. and then again after that and once before the before.....and so on and so forth.

Thanks to you Kushman.

I catch your drift but I'm not so sure I concur that it's all bad. On Sunday the first International Hand Holding Day is going to occur (see above post). The 10th of September. And it will happen next year too. And the year after that etc. This stemmed out of this forum...

Be proud of our meanderings. Love does win.

Dear Boss,

Just to let you know our family will be holding hands this Sunday at three o'clock as the mighty Bulldogs do battle with the Magpies (in Australian rules football). Just a suggestion, you might want to contact the chief of the AFL and have the scoreboard flash when it hits 3 for the crowd to join hands. Beautiful idea you have Boss. May it be realised on Sunday and in future years.

Love vibrations coming your way

Bernard,

I'm rapt you and Deb will join in on the hand holding. Haven't had much constructive feedback. A whole aspect of the day is to really sit back and spend a bit of close time reflecting in this hustle and bustle world of ours. If only your family actually do this: that is enough. There is next year and a whole future ahead. We'll have more time to prepare. I feel it is also a way for the world to pay respect to September the 11th without actually being intrusive. Just fortunate that the 10th is a Sunday - the perfect day to launch such a day.

I hope your Bulldogs win for you. My team, the Carlton Blues came last this year so I will probably back the Collingwood Magpies - my two brothers support them.

Hey Switz, Black Ferns :?: :?: What planet are you from. You never heard of the Australian Football League? Best game in the world.

To all hand holders on Sunday, you do it for peace, you do it for hope and you do it for ease of mind. Thanks.

PS - Bernard, great idea about contacting Andrew Demetriou.
PSS - Switz, you gotta see some Aussie rules.

Catch you round

Boss,

3:00 to 3:10, okay. Which time zone would that be? Should
I be alone, any thoughts about whether hands clasped in
traditional prayer (also a yoga mudra) would meet the
definition of holding hands?

Steven,

Time zones stretch right around the world, but there is only one 3pm for you. Wherever you are and the clock strikes 3pm, that is it. How many zones are there anyway? Did this at school. One would imagine there would be 24. What about the state of South Australia and the Northern Territory? They have an independent time zone from their more northerly countries. It is half an hour closer to Melbourne time instead of an hour. If any countries are enjoying daylight savings, that of course wouldn't affect it. At a guess there are probably about 28 zones. Thus, there won't be one Hand Holding 3pm; but quite a few.

You raise a good point. I think that as long as one hand is held (merely touched) of your own or someone else's, you complete the ritual. Of course you may have to break the hand holding for a variety of reasons. But the point is to try and last 10 minutes holding a hand, or paw, or claw etc. Whilst holding hands you can do a variety of things. Bernard and Deb are listening or watching football. Anything is the go except you have to remain hand holding for 10 minutes.

Why? That is a more delicate question. It's to inject some ritual and harmony into a world which has, if you look at it honestly, gone astray. To have an International Hand Holding Day costs nothing, hurts no one, includes everyone and...would bring a bit of warmth and fun into our lives.

We can achieve something, all of us, together. It is a symbol of freedom. Freedom that we don't buy or sell. Freedom where we don't need to 'watch'. We are it.

We are in control...

I'll tell you a true tune
If you listen deep down
There's something a buzzin'
It's coming around
Old masters sing out
Sing to someone's fear
Alive on the planet
The king is here
It happened in Galilee
In Isaiah's storm
A prophecy opened
A king was born
You ask why this coming
Look at empty needs
Heads so unfocussed
We're still singing for greed
The king is here he's living in doubt
His time is coming to end up the drought
He's practiced in pain
He's practiced in art
He'll open your mind
To make a new start
Talk about art
Talk a little more
Your feelings are blinded
Bring on the king's law
Broken rulebooks
Wasted family
Money the tyrant
So much misery
And so it is written
In the holy books
From the holy mountain
Lived king with the crooks
He's going through changes
Bruising left and right
Sad rearrangements
To rule with the light
So when you're feeling small
Think to up above
There's coming to town
A king with new love
The king is here he's living in doubt
The time is coming to end the drought
He's practiced in pain
He's practiced in art
He'll open your mind
We'll make a new start
A new start baby, yeah

Da Vinci he saw aeroplanes
The Greeks put Icarus in flames
H.G. Welles knew the point
He saw the future of this joint
When you think about soft evolution
Humanity's revolution
Can't you see nations coming together?
It's a slow process like the weather
There's six billion people on our earth
We've never had so many since our birth
Is it just a remarkable chance?
So many free able to dance
We kill disease, conquer plague
Why so many feeling vague?
We have knowledge, information
Why this hatred midst the nations?

What type of people become our leaders?
Have they ever tried to feed us?
Have they ever been free?
Have they ever been dancing?
Do you think they'd ever know?
Of your confusion and your suffering?
Are they there for the best positions?
Do they care about conditions?
The sun is rising this morning
A golden age is dawning
The sun is rising this morning
A golden age is coming and dawning

Winter 13,700,000,010

I am going to hold my dog's paw on Sunday at 3. I realise it will be a tiny flick in the nature of things. I'm also aware that only perhaps a handful of people will partake. That is okay. There is always next year. Much more time than a few days to organise. As I hold (or attempt to hold) his paw I will be playing tracks 2 and 10 of Dylan's new album Modern Times and I will try to ruminate about a lost love. And think warm thoughts of her.

What we achieved is belief. That, even though the inaugural International Hand Holding Day will be just a trickle; next year it may be an ocean. I'm anticipating Sunday. Know exactly where I'll be sitting. I must say I'm even getting a little excited. Think I'll burn candles too.

Bye

Adam
