for some reason i'm having trouble with the permissions to upload. i can still download. it may be a problem my end, not sure. but it means israel 72 remains incomplete. great videos btw.

You cannot over write the files already uploaded, i suggest you rename your files that are incomplete like

Orgine
LC.Song.mp3 to LC.Song.COMPLETE.mp3

And i will pop round to rename them and remove the incomplet versions.

I've been trying to upload the video of Cohen's induction to the Canadian Songwriter's Hall of Fame, but I'm having trouble with the permissions. Can someone lend a hand?

Can you tell me in which formats are up there? MP3 and MPEG (divx)? Or real audio tracks and DVD files? Can I zip the show in original audio (wav) tracks and upload it, or convert to mp3 (what's not welcomed in trading circles, as far I know, because of loss of quality)?

Well it isnt really trading as there is nothing in return you are welcome to download everything and not upload a single file, but a .wav will be about 700mb for a single cd, and a well compressed same cd would be about 120mb really dependd of what you are uploading and what you would like to see on the ftp.

Maybe compresse the files in mp3, videos in divx or what-ever you like because mostly people do not have the bandwidth to dll hole CDs in one go but an mp3 is mutch simpler.

And if there is a trader maniac who wants some more quality contact him

Thanks. I have most of the shows on CDRs, and I know that collectors are madly against mp3s. It's not that they'll use these shows from FTP, but someone will download these, decompress them into CDR, and they distribute further, and then we will not know which CD is what quality. I know this is happening because I got Warsaw 1985 in FLAC files (thru FTP exchange also), and it's mesmerising recording of FULL concert (starts with Bird..., correct tracklist). I is actually CBS's soundboard recording, never released, A+ quality. There was an earlier radio tape recording (which starts with Who By Fire, and full of drops and LP hissing), and then there was its digital improvement (some guy from US digitally cleared the hissing and sound). I send it to many people, and I see it all became a mess, you don't know which recording is which. This on FTP is NOT the full soundboard version, I see (it starts with Who By Fire)?
Last week I uploaded to FTP what I had in my laptop (those three new tracks Greg cut off the KCRW, zipped Books, and Word file of Early Stories, plus single version of Peyroux' cover), so I wanted to know what I have to do with CDR during transport to my laptop; make it wav or mp3. Unfortunately, I can't upload videos (I have very interesting stuff here), because decompression from DVD to divx takes ages... I never succeeded with any of the movies I tried to crack from local video club:-) It says "50 hours" so I rather burned the DVD (although I prefer DivX format).
