Yes, he did exactly the same to me as well. I used to be bubbling with such confidence. Now I am too scared to say 'Boo!' to a mouse. He probably didn't get enough hugs when he was little. Cor, I bet he was the proverbial unlikeable child. He said to Jim that he didn't even like the title even! I don't reckon we'll be seeing a whole lot of him back here ever again. I saw that he also had a go at Hungry Zoltan, but that ghoulash-eating butcher of the English language just palmed him off with a bit of successful psychological manipulation. It's going to be extra hard for C2 to criticise him next time - ha ha! By the way, I see that our two posts were sent at precisely the same time, and yet mine appeared ahead of yours - even though 'Snow' comes alphabetically after 'Martine'. Is there a logical explanation to this - or am I just a born winner?
in what exact circumstances would you ever wish to say Boo to a mouse? What a weird life you country folk lead.
and in what circumstances would anyone sensible write a sentence " he didn't even like the title even".
in your hierarchy spelling point please remember that Geoff comes before Martine, (like beard comes before tuxedo)
Snowy you are irreversibly incredibly sweet and cuddly. I could never ever get pissed at you and sometimes I wish you could play a little harder, to present even a tiny challenge in our banter. Martine and I will have to consider carefully whether to allow you to join our pretend fights.

oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy, look who's back and badder than ever.

you give ONE crit and already you've managed to get THREE people upset. tisk tisk, michael.
but martine, i know how you feel. i have once been in your shoes as the subject of a criticism by THE CRITIC. he gave me a piece of his mind, and i gave him ALL of my mind. wasn't too pretty. but i've moved on. y'know...
~scattered pictures ~of the smiles we left behind ~smiles we gave to one another ~for the way we were ~~~
and mikey, you said, and i quote:
now look here, Martine! you must not already start getting depressed at the thought of another comp. or I will suggest the topic as "what has Martine been doing in the last 6 months, and is it fattening, illegal, or both?"
that's kind of a low blow, and you know it, but it only made me do this

when i saw the words "another comp." so, i was just curious if you had any inkling to participate in this comp, or start one up for real?

ahem, T, my friend, you are running a little behind the pace here and not getting the joke or the subplot at all.

Ah, so you too believe that Jim was upset. Of course he damn well was! He probably spent ages getting 'Father Cohen' just right and when he finally got enough courage to proudly let us all see it so that he could get a bit of praise and encouragement - what happened? C2, that miserable killjoy who needs his balls flicked with a thick rubber band went and made him scrub it out as if it were excrement thrown at the inside of our computer screens. Ahmed is right, C2 is a bastard swine.
Nice day everyone -
Ann
I love your loyalty to Geoffrey. it is one of the sweetest net romances ever!

Well, I am glad that ~ even though repeating another's post, for responding to it, isn't really necessary ~ in this case, Critic2 copied-and-pasted Jim's entire poem, so we still have it

!!!
Regardless of the critiques of it, which do have merit from a poetry 'composition' standpoint, I loved the
feel and flow of Jim's poem ~ and the images that came to me as I read it. Cigarette ashes are much more likely ~ hence, realistic ~ to get left behind than a page of writing from one of Leonard's famous songs.
Gentler, constructive critiqueing of these poems would be, I think, appreciated by their writers; but slam-dunking defeats the purpose because the person is likely to not continuing sharing their writing here. Jim has already demonstrated that by removing the one he
did post.
If you're still here, Jim, it would be great to see your poem back here in its proper place.

Agreed. Let's get ahmed and Teratogen to hold him down ~ you can do the dirty deed, and I'll supervise.

golly gosh M, what a shockingly sexist reply you have posted. Are you going to deprive Ann of the chance to fulfill her own fantasy because of some antiquated presumption that, being only a "gal", she isn't strong enough to flick my balls herself.
Shame on you. Down with sexism. Only a woman would have made the sort of disgusting comment you did.

Yes, Critic2, I really don't disagree with the merit of your critiques. I think the vast majority of comments are relevant when you make them. It's just the accompanying, editorial comments that squash the spirit of a fledgling or still-improving [and who wouldn't be that?] poet. In this case, the proof is in the pudding with the new, and certainly accurate and relevant title "Deleted."

You are saying, then, that Critic2 sometimes makes irrelevant comments. Why do you think this is so? Is it an occasional lack of social intelligence, the sporadic surfacing of a subconscious desire to insult - or just periodical incompetence at harmonic human interaction?
