 You really love hyperbole, Tink, if this is your idea of me in an uproar  . With regard to downers, well  , my drugs are my business  ~ now you can run with that one  .

Or, you can follow Tri-me's directive to cease and desist ~ actually, a much better idea. But, then, there's that personal choice issue. So, whatever you decide  .

Read what she writes to Partisan him a grown man too. She speaks as if to a small child. "Keep studying it appears to be agreeing with you and doing you good". No wonder he does not reply.

 Tink ~ You've confirmed you have no clue of the dynamic or relevance of what I've said. That's fine. As for a reply from Partisan, one's not expected. I doubt he's even read it, yet. If he has, I'm also not surprized at there being no answer. A reply wasn't the point.

I have somewhere I need to be in five minutes, so see ya later :D .

Tink what are you 8 years old? Cease and desist.
Tri-me- why would you tell Tink to "cease and desist"? Because you said so? Because you feel uncomfortable him asking disturbing questions? And why are the questions uncomfortable for you? Tink did not touch any of your Buddha subjects!~ which I find sweet and delightful, even if I sometimes think that people from totally different background don't have a clue what they are talking about~while expressing the Zen Buddha etc. Like a song they heard somewhere, singing, repeating, without a knowledge~ it's coming from that~ or this eine kleine dorfchen...
So, dearest Tri- me, as beautiful and mysterious looking you are, leave my friend Tink alone, even if he can speak very well for himself! I did not write this for him, but for you-as very Buddhist as you are-leave Tink alone and don't you dare to tell him-cease and desist!

Bee, you are right I really have no right to tell someone to shut up and go away. Tink please do not cease and desist, and accept my appology.
We do get into emotional responses in the forum and certain situations do push buttons. Through correspondence we might think we are getting to know each other, but it does take a long time to know someone. Bee don't assume you know much about me. Reading thought the lines it appears you are calling me a hypocrite? I do study Buddhism I took refuge vows last October which makes me a Buddhist and I was given my Tibetan name Tri-me Sheldrön. I have been a member of the Shambhala community since 1992. One of the aspects of Buddhism is that we appreciate the humanness of our existence; we are emotional among many other things. One thing that really pushes my button is when I perceive that someone is being picked on or bullied. Tink your reaction to Lizzy seemed destructive to me and it was making my stomach turn. Lizzy is a grown woman and she can take care of herself, but abuse is abuse. Attacking another person when all they are doing is sharing their emotional response to something is unfair and abusive. Abusive may be a strong word, but when you throw out accusations and belittle a person this to me is abuse. The message is you are wrong for thinking this way and you need to be more like me.
I don’t know am I right for doing this. Was I wrong to tell a woman on a street car to stop slapping her child? Was I wrong to tell a little kid to stop throwing stones at the ducks in the park? You might say I am being a bleeding heart, but hey I am what I am and you are what you are. We have the responsibility to treat each other with respect; everybody is important and has the right to express themselves without ridicule from others.

I know this has nothing to so with the Sept 1st bouycott.
IEA releases oil
Last Updated Fri, 02 Sep 2005 17:41:35 EDT
CBC News
The 26 nation International Energy Agency announced Friday that the U.S. and Europe have agreed to release more than 60 million barrels of oil and refined products from their emergency supplies.
The announcement improved the post-Katrina petroleum-supply outlook and had an immediate impact on the price of a barrel of light sweet crude for October delivery.
In their first decline this week, gasoline futures dropped nearly 27 cents to $2.14 US a gallon and light sweet crude for October delivery fell $1.88 to $67.59 US a barrel in Friday afternoon trade on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
The NYMEX market was particularly upbeat because the IEA decision will bring gasoline and diesel fuel from Europe to the American market which has experienced tightening supplies due to Katrina-related refinery and pipeline damage.
In response to a request from the IEA, Prime Minister Paul Martin said Canada will step up its oil production to help stabilize world markets in the aftermath of Katrina. "We are prepared to do our part" said Martin.
The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers said Thursday that producers, refineries and pipeline operators have delayed scheduled maintenance and shutdowns to keep oil flowing at full capacity.
Alberta Premier Ralph Klein said: "We're sending as much oil as we possibly can to accommodate the people in New Orleans. The pipeline capacity is very limited."
The Gulf Coast is responsible for producing about 30 per cent of U.S. crude production and a quarter of its gas. As well, a large portion of U.S. imports also arrive at Gulf Coast ports.
Gulf coast refineries and natural gas processing plants remain out of service because of power outages.
Katrina damaged or displaced an estimated 58 Gulf of Mexico oil platforms and drilling rigs. Among those, 30 rigs and platforms have been reported lost.

Dear Tri-me, I don't assume anything, I don't know you, I was just responding to your post and written words. 8)
I did not mean to call you hypocrite-even if it was puzzling, that you took upon yourself a duty to kick Tink. Surely, you may teach the children not to throw stones at the ducks, it is good and normal thing to do, one does not need to be a Buddhist for that. But you apologized to Tink, and that is the end of it.
My slight comment about Buddhism was not about you in particular, just generalization, don't pay attention to that. :)

Thanks Bee. I am going to have to take a break! I will be back near the end of October. We have musicians from New Orleans coming up here to Fredericton for the Jazz and Blues Festival next week. I hope they can enjoy themselves.

Dear Tri-me ~

It may be too late for you to see this, but I hope you do. I'll miss you, but know you'll be doing something else that you love.

I'm glad the musicians will be coming to your Festival. They'll be finding a loving, warm, and caring person when they meet you! A balm they'll appreciate.

I've been listening to interviews with various jazz and blues musicians on NPR. Due to the nature of the business, it seems a number were other places. It also seems, at this point, that many [maybe the majority?] of those who were there, left. One [Larry Neusaints?] lost his first floor Steinmetz piano and all ~ but said, "I am the music ~ and it will go on." [second portion may not be verbatim, but first portion is; he may have said "it will survive," it will live," or something else]. I need to check the spelling of his name, and whether he was the one who actually said it.

I got the full story on Fats Domino, but need to check Tchocolatl's link, to see if it gives all the information, first.

Go well, as you participate and do your heartwork :D . See you when you return :D .

Love,
Lizzy
