Weather Report
as readsung by Chi Coltrane

[It's a bit of a stretch on the weather, as well as the report, aspect, so I've included more than one verse.]
Ooh! What a good thing I've got
Oh it's such a good thing I've got
I don't think I can stand it

Thunder and Lightning
I tell you it's frightening
It's thunder and lightning
And you're in control

I thought my life was complete
But look what you're doin' to me
Oh! You're makin' me crazy

Thunder and Lightning
I tell you it's frightening
It's thunder and lightning
And you're in control

I don't know how to handle it
It's more than I would dare
I wouldn't try to run from it
It reaches me everywhere
I'm feelin' dizzy and weak
You make me forget how to speak
I can feel it happening
It's a great song to listen to, however, if that's any 'consolation.'

Now not off topic this time but off season (but it may help to cool down) real season, though not off the present season of the heart staring today :

Weather report
as written by Hank Williams - and sung by ... guess who? Madeleine Peroux

The snow falls ’round my window
But it can’t chill my heart
God knows it died the day you left
My dream world fell apart.

Weather Report
as writsung by Frank Sinatra
I'm singin' in the rain
Just singin' in the rain,
What a glorious feeling,
And I'm happy again.
I'm laughing at clouds
So dark, up above,
The sun's in my heart
And I'm ready for love.

Let the stormy clouds chase.
Everyone from the place,
Come on with the rain
I have a smile on my face.
I'll walk down the lane
With a happy refrain
Just singin', singin' in the rain.

Dancing in the rain.

I'm happy again.

I'm singin' and dancin' in the rain.

Dancin' and singin' in the rain.
[My personal theme song on Hydra :D ~ had it rained :) .]

Weather Report
as writsung by Frank Sinatra
The summer wind came blowin' in
From across the sea
It lingered there to touch your hair
And walk with me

All summer long
we sang a song
And then we strolled that golden sand
Two sweethearts and the summer wind

Like painted kites, those days and nights
They went flying by
The world was new beneath the blue
Umbrella sky

Then softer than a piper man
One day, it called to you
I lost you I lost you to
The summer wind

The autumn wind
And the winter winds
They have come and gone
And still those days
Those lonely days
They go on and on
And guess who sighs
His lullabies through nights that never end
My fickled friend,
The summer wind
The summer wind warm summer wind
Mmm the summer wind
Now, I need to go outside, beneath my own, thunderous sky. See ya after lunch.

I was thinking Frankie Lane sang, "Singing In The Rain," too. But, it seems it was Glen Kelly?

However, that lead to:

Weather Report
as sung by Tony Bennett
Grab your coat and get your hat
Leave your worries on the doorstep
Life can be so sweet
On the sunny side of the street

Can't you hear the pitter-pat?
And that happy tune is your step
Life can be complete
On the sunny side of the street

I used to walk in the shade with those blues on parade
But I'm not afraid because this rover crossed over!

And if I never had a cent
I'd be rich as Rockefeller
With gold dust at my feet
On the sunny side of the street

I used to walk in the shade with those blues on parade
But I'm not afraid because this rover crossed over!

And if I never had a cent
I'd be rich as *Harry Belafonte*
With *Barry Goldwater* at my feet
On the sunny side of the street

TRANSCRIBER'S NOTE: Tony was obviously having some fun (* *) in the last verse.

This is what came to me whilst, at 'lunch,' I was running errands in the rain:

Weather Report
as sung by Ray Charles ["lyrics by" ~ unknown. Someone, or their estate, missed out on some serious royalties.]
[Brook Benton has also sung it, along with others]
Hoverin' by my suitcase, tryin' to find a warm place to spend the night
Heavy rain fallin', seems I hear your voice callin' "It's all right."
A rainy night in Georgia, a rainy night in Georgia
It seems like it's rainin' all over the world
I feel like it's rainin' all over the world

Neon signs a-flashin', taxi cabs and buses passin' through the night
A distant moanin' of a train seems to play a sad refrain to the night
A rainy night in Georgia, such a rainy night in Georgia
Lord, I believe it's rainin' all over the world
I feel like it's rainin' all over the world

How many times I wondered
It still comes out the same
No matter how you look at it or think of it
It's life and you just got to play the game

<instrumental interlude>

I find me a place in a box car, so I take my guitar to pass some time
Late at night when it's hard to rest I hold your picture to my chest and I feel fine
(minor scat) But it's a rainy night in Georgia, baby, it's a rainy night in Georgia I
feel it's rainin' all over the world, kinda lonely now And it's rainin' all over the
world

Oh, have you ever been lonely, people?
And you feel that it was rainin' all over this man's world
You're talking 'bout rainin', rainin', rainin', rainin', rainin', rainin', rainin',
rainin', rainin' rainin', rainin', rainin' <etc. to end>
OK, someone else's turn :) .

I think I've contributed enough for now. However, Lizzy, take it from me, that it was Gene Kelly that sang Singin' in the Rain. Not Glen.

Weather Report by Carole King

it might as well rain until September

Is everybody here remembering the complete words to all these songs to type them in, or is there some way of copy and pasting all these lyrics :?:

Margaret,

I copied and pasted from one of those 'lyric' sites. Otherwise, my contributions would have been chock-full of typos. Simply go to your lyrics, run your mouse over the lyrics with the left side of your mouse down the whole time (the 'to be copied' will show in your highlight colour). When your lyrics are all highlighted, right click your mouse and then left click 'copy'. Once it's copied you can travel around with the song in your browser. Then you can come back here, click the quote button, right click your mouse and left click 'paste'. Voila! Does that sound familiar, Lizzy?

Actually, Lizzy taught me the ins and outs of copying and pasting for the poetry comp. Before then, I was typing everything. :?

Thanks Linda,

Lizzy has also tried before to teach me about copy and paste and quotes, but I don't get to practice much so I forget :? The other thing that has me a bit puzzled is
one of those 'lyric' sites.
Which site would you suggest?
