Of course, the problem with having a private club is that the actual number of participants dwindles considerably.
I keep telling you it would help to have newbies fill out a form. That would save them the embarrassment of you being a total shit to them in public and they may stick around awhile.
Or maybe you could agree not to berate them until they have posted, oh, let's say 5 poems. Let them come in awhile, look around, post a few, then unleash the great defender of good verse on them.
I guess you're going to need to create a whole bunch of new names to submit under to keep the totals up! You can do it, and have, so it should be ok.
I can't wait to read your offerings! This will be great fun! Now, if I offer more honest critiques are you going to sulk and start another poll and get all mad and offensive again? Yes, I know you usually follow these up with a cuddly warm family picture or anecdote so people will forget what an ass you are, but still, bad form.

So, T, why don't you volunteer? Remember how much fun we had?
Linda.
PS: But you're right about the 'flat'. There were 19 people online not long ago - I couldn't find one new post. Just reading about the tour and all I guess.
On the other hand, the 'flat' is probably 'our' fault??? After all, we are the members of this forum. Capiche?

exactly, Linda. It is all
your fault. The new Pope will be pleased when he hears of your confession!
all we are waiting for is a Judge and an intershammos so we can get this forum alive again with a new poetry comp. They have been very successful in the past in livening this place up.

9 so far but the really embarassing one is Scotland. only been there once for the 45 second Mike Tyson win over a no-hoper, front row ringside seats but hid under the stand covers as it poured and poured!!! nut met George Foreman later back at the hotel.

that's cool. out of this country i've only been to mexico. i like mexico a lot, i want to go back some more. i like the more tropical aspect over the desert, 'cause southern california is a desert, so i like getting out of it as much as i can. i wish to be in berlin for the next even but it looks very unlikely right now. anyway.....

Where in Mexico did you go T? Oh, you're in Calif. so you probably go all the time. I've only been there once. It's my desire to drive the Pacific Coast Highway all the way down. Doubt that I'll do it now, with the price of gas. The coast is nice, but much too touristy (read: expensive for Mexico), I found that the further in I went, the cheaper it got. Stands to reason. I missed a bull fight in Mexico City 'cause I caught the bug in Ixtapa. If I won a lottery, I think that's the place I'd go to think about my next step.
Linda.
On the other hand, I could think about my next step on Rodeo Drive.

well, the first time i went there was in tijuana, one of the worst places to be in mexico. i've been there twice. the next two times i went to mexico were by cruises. my first was a three-day cruise that only stopped in ensenada once. the second cruise was a five-day cruise and we went to puerto vallarta, mazatlan, and cabo san lucas, respectively. i must say, every city i've been to got better and better, in that order. i mean, cabo was more upscale, and mazatlan was a bit neater than puerto vallarta and so on, but i got to go to a resort while in puerto vallarta, and it was pretty tropical, so i dug that a lot. i sat out by the pool wearing all black reading "naked lunch" drinking a free tequila sunrise. it was fun...
in cabo i went to sammy haggar's bar, cabo wabo and had some drinks there, too, but sammy wasn't there. i also went parasailing in mazatlan, which was actually the day of my 20th birthday while i was there. so it was over a year ago. anyway, fun times, i'd like to go again, too.

T -
I went parasailing also. Being afraid of heights did not add to the experience, nor did the condition of the boat and the inattention of the boat's attenders.
Drinking seems to have a lot to do with Mexico. Naked Lunch? I have that as well. I heard that the cruises were for the over 60 crowd (oops - that could be me in the not too, too distant future). If I make 60 - I'll take a cruise to Mexico.
Linda.

hahaha. well, the "over-60" people stayed on the boat while it was docked in mexico. it's fun!!! you don't need to be wearing diapers and living off of social security to have fun on big-ass expensive boats!! you get entertained, you get to drink, play in the casino, meet people, go clubbing even!, and best of all, eat all kinds of expensive foods that you'll never be able to afford anywhere else! hahahaha. it's swweeeeet. plus, you get to go to mexico! hahaha.
