Sorry, but 'quirky' is taken. It's been in use for many years with regard to me and the things that I'm involved in. You're going to have to look for another word. Sorry. Pedantic is available. As are wacky and xenophobic. You might want try Google - they're very good at finding things.

Linda have you ever read any of the old National Lampoon mags? (73-79)
they had a very tongue in cheek editorial call Canadian Corner.
i.e. "Drivin' to xenophobia due to clamatic conditions...those frozen lemmings of the north...."
