And how such a union could occur between these two people, as I've already sincerely said, is totally understandable to me. Kezban's much younger, very beautiful, and very intelligent... what's not for Leonard to be attracted and drawn to... though intimacy would certainly change their day-to-day interaction dynamic; which I'd think would give Leonard pause because he already knows that all too well.

well, actor anthony quinn was in his eighties when he sired offspring, so a woman of child-bearing age has always to be careful. i doubt very much a lecher would 'pause' should he feel his natural procreation urges reporting for duty. my father told me "a stiff prick knows no conscience" - and i have never found that to be untrue.

yes, it is, lisa, as long as it occurs on 1st april :-)

True enough that I don't know Leonard personally; however, I have had open, honest, and frank conversations with a number of male friends through the years... and I daresay every man is not at the mercy of his parts, mental, emotional, or physical. And I would hope that Leonard's years on Mt. Baldy and in Zen practices elsewhere have not been for naught. Given the nature of extreme deprivation he's willfully endured, I'd say there has been at least one space left for pause. Add to that the wisdom of his years and I'd have to guess that Leonard is capable of a rather high degree of circumspection, and could actually be capable [and follow through on his capability] of deciding against the carnality, even carnality mixed with love, for whatever he might see as the better and higher good [should that be the case]

Not that your Dad was wrong... however, it seems his warning[s] to you came to a young boy/older boy/young man, whichever you were when they started. I've known men who fit that profile perfectly, as well.

Here's to Leonard's decision-making :D .

well, making such a decision is a tricky subject, lizzie, because the teachings of judaism, specifically the talmud, forbids masturbation. on the other hand, it is well known that frequent ejaculation will help a man avoid prostate problems. the most natural solution for leonard would therefore simply be to surrender to his primitive instincts and regularly copulate - which is what he has always done :-)

Here's to Leonard's good health, of course :D
Please, however, define regularly... at every opportunity, with every temptation... throw all caution to the wind... regardless of any/all consequences to any/all around him... here's to a healthy prostate? It's a toughie to believe that Leonard would be quite so egocentric and myopic. Of course, you know him far better than I :)

do we ever really get to know another person? that is a question pondered upon since cain murdered his brother. all one can do is look for tell-tale signs, study their behaviour, make an educated guess. we know that leonard has not really suffered from depression after becoming famous, we know that he is always in a good mood, appears reflective and relaxed, is never angry - not even when his life savings are stolen. this is because sex releases hormones such as endorphins and oxytocin into the brain, neutralising any accumulation of stress and making one feel satisfied. make no mistake, he has been having sex, probably on a daily basis, throughout his adult life - and this has nothing to do with egocentricity or myopia. there is no greater compliment a man can give to a woman than make love to her. it makes her feel attractive, irresistible. it's a win-win situation :-)

Oh, my, Geoffrey... aside from perhaps dubbing Leonard's sexual life The Prostate Project, we now have to address your implications that men having sex with a woman is a form of personal generousity TO her... bypassing altogether the value she holds in the world in realms beyond the bed. The greatest compliment might be [to her satisfaction] her being a wonderful mother, and wanting her to be the mother of your own children; of being a caring daughter, in caring for her parents in need; in being a great life partner, a true friend. The list goes on.

If he has or had it, certainly a possibility in that he's human, after all, Leonard has at least chosen to not allow the world to witness his anger regarding the theft of his fortune. And time has shown that he was able to thrive without it, anyway. Personally, I wouldn't suggest that daily sex would mitigate against such an issue as not feeling anger toward such immense loss and ill will. When it happened, he didn't know how magnificently he would be greeted by the world in droves, and would regain his fortune and beyond.

In any case, dear one, I must go...

Much love,

No doubt this is more of that "wisdom" that you learned from your lecherous father. Perhaps you may consider finding a better role model before continuing to perpetuate misogynistic drivel that is, quite frankly, offensive and crude.

Of course, perhaps this is all still just a joke, and you are making these preposterous statements to provoke a response. If so, ha-ha, another knee-slapper, you should have been a comedian.

I remember when making someone an April fool was quite a laugh. Preposterous statements, so very obviously untrue were sometimes believed by the odd person (as in very few) and how we laughed. I suspect somewhere at some time along the line I was a victim of a joke that was slightly, oh so slightly believable. And it is here that I don't ever recall anyone being an April fool turning the whole thing in to a drawn out resume of the incident. If you were ever had, you either laughed at your own stupidity, or you just slunk away to recover your lost composure, never read a debate about it afterwards.

As we say in Lundern, you've been had. The older, shall we say more mature women may still find LC an attractive bed partner but this rather beautiful young lady has no doubt rather a some what younger taste in her amours. I have no doubt if she has read Geoffrey's OP, she would have had a right grin about it....
I guess it all started for me sometime around Christmas 1967 and now, goodness me, it's.........2018 and over fifty years later.
No one ever listens to me. I might as well be a Leonard Cohen record.

well, like i said, making love should be a "win-win" situation, with both partners equally sharing the enjoyment. it's a little bit complicated sometimes, though, because in bed some women prefer a caveman to a sophisticated gentleman, they like to be taken/ravished, or 'forced to surrender' - all part of the mating game.

much love back to you, and don't be gone too long. xxx

and yet you happily engaged in recent discussions with michael concerning "spanking the monkey" and "trousers with mayonnaise".

I do not know who this "Michael" is; I was chatting with my good friend "Sue". ;-)

As for the phrases to which you refer, I clearly expressed disdain at the former, and as for the latter, I rather innocently interpreted it literally, and not as a euphemism (we do not all have dirty minds).

Furthermore, my discussion with "Sue" was most clearly in a light-hearted, satirical vein, unlike what has unfolded in this topic. It had absolutely nothing to do with the denigration of women (as mindless objects of lust), nor the denigration of men (as mindlessly incapable of controlling their impulses in the presence of women), as you have portrayed them in your comments in this discussion. So, please do not drag me into your debased world-view by taking my words completely out of the context in which I made them and deliberately misinterpreting them to try to bring me down to a level of questionable and/or poor taste. [Insert haughty emoticon expressing righteous indignation]
