Like Lizzy, I prefer the rough draft. Maybe it's the white above the lips in the finished painting (although sometimes a painting seems to get many reworkings

) that doesn't appeal to me.
(P.S. Geoffrey, I haven't had time to go through the entire forum (working my way from the bottom to the top), but can you tell us how your showings did? Thank you.

well, i haven't been in touch with the galleries for a week or so, but several have been sold. leonard kindly made a special poster that is now hanging in one of them, and that has helped very much. if there is any interest i can post a picture of it here. you know, at christmas time there is a lot of stress, people don't have a lot of time or money to spare, but i am more than happy with the way things are going. thank you for being interested, mary
