Again, I am posting before reading other's comments.
This poem really does show me what is happening at this winter moment. It also tells a story and reveals much about the behaviour and the interaction of the birds observed. A slightly different take on "winter" but still on topic. The vivid imagery and good humoured observations make this one of my favourites. This one addresses the criteria closely (for me).
