Weather Report
Weather Man - Tony Blair
"I am not sorry that it is raining on everyone.
Tomorrow looks brighter, depending where you live.
The long range forecast is promising and I guarantee lots of weather for everyone.
There are violent storms in other parts of the world, some originating from a deep depression over the UK, but fortunately we can't see them from here.
The seaweed outside number 10 tells me that you are due a harsh winter if you don't pay your gas and electricity bills....it's either that or the sea levels have risen quicker than anticipated. "
There now follows a party political broadcast... or was that it???

Andrew~
This is pure self-indulgence on my part....but it is kinda weird...so i'll indulge (you don't need to comment or anything).
You mention Ted Hughes. Not a great leap from Plath. But the weird thing is i had a dream last night that i was in Great Britain. I was staying in a rather "seedy hotel" (thanks lizz
if you're reading this). There was a curio shop and i found a palm-sized, hand carved fox, laying curled. It was painted, but the real intriguing part of it was that is was wearing glasses. Well, they were part of the carving itself, not added as a cheap wire accessory. I immediately (in my dream) knew what it was, A Thought-Fox. I also knew this is a title of one of Ted Hughes' breakout poems in his first published collection. I am quite less familiar with its text (read it this morning for clarity). But the title is a stand out. So in my dream, i couldn't find anyone to help me with this fox i wanted to buy...entering a zone of pure frustration, i walk out of the store with it in my hand. I just had to have that fox. I felt it was some sort of esoteric thing that only "i" understood its real meaning. Then later, as i was walking around, I had it out for some reason and another spotted it and said, "Oh, that's a Thought-Fox!" Drats. Couldn't even star in me own dream
ciao,
Laurie

Dear Pete,
Omit the word "not" in the first line, or maybe not : either way this is a good "shipping forecast" ( before we all listen to "Sailing By" to send us off to sleep). What a compliant population in the U.K.!
The last person standing will do the weather report, and if it's Tony, oh yes, he'll deliver it, and worse still, believe in it.
Andrew.
