How could I consider such a minor object of collective amusement an "enemy". 
He's just fantasizing again. Wishful thinking is blurring his attempts at cognitive thought.
Still no examples have emerged of the literary knowledge he keeps claiming he can "teach" me...

You probably know that "wherefore" in the passage from Romeo and Juliet means "why". It was an expression of sorrow that her lover was part of the "enemy" family.
I didn't notice any ridicule but the "wherefore" would most likely be insecurityof the writer.
