It was a great night, and the photographs and videos posted on here are wonderful reminders of that....
BUT - and I do hate to sound a note of negativity - the concert for me was close to being ruined by being surrounded by people who seemed more intent on recording it (sound & vision) than actually listening and watching. The worst culprit was the *idiot* immediately behind me who not only had the sounds on his device turned on loud so that every time he pressed a button it emitted a loud beep, but even worse started reviewing a song he'd recorded by playing it back through his loudspeaker - WHILE CHELSEA HOTEL WAS BEING PERFORMED ON STAGE. Seriously. I just could not believe it, and had to ask him to switch it off.
If you're reading this, Monsieur in Rang P, seat 089, may your flesh rot slowly from your bones or you learn some etiquette.
We all love the videos and photos, but I worry that recording them is becoming the principal focus of some people at the shows. Just relax folks and enjoy participating in, rather than observing through a lens, the greatest performances you are likely to see.
