I'm trying to take my thoughts together about yestarday's gig in Stockholm. All I can come up with it this.
Leonard.Cohen.!
I only have 1 question - before Take this Waltz Leonard said that he is dedicating that song to his friend to whom he used to write novels together in Greece (I would imagine around the time when of Beautiful Loosers were written). His initials are JS if I'm not making a mistake here, please help to remember!
Also, I want to thank that lovely person who sold me her ticket. I was back in Row 29. Perfect sound and picture on screens!
But even if I would have sit on the roof of Globe Arena, my point is - that is the night to remember! The best teamwork I've ever seen on stage! There is so much love that it is contagious in the best sense of the word!
Anyway, I'm spending too much time on the Internet so I'm going offline for a while. Beautiful Loosers waiting for me on the bedside table! ;)
See you at another gigs IGW!
And thanks to all musicians and above all, to Leonard Cohen for this beautiful gift of touring for us!

The song was dedicated to the Swedish writer Goran Tunstrom.
They used to write together at Hydra.

Great show again. Leonard's vocal on the Future was the best I've heard yet. Although his vocal on Hallelujah and First We Take Manhattan was a bit out of tune. Audience was a bit too reserved throughout.

Still wondering how to describe wonderful last weeks weekend  But I shall give it a try while uploading my first video to youtube. Let's see if I can include the link here already... So far 50% are there.

So where do I begin? Well, before the concert I went to meet forum members Goldstei as well as Hartmut and his lovely wife for a nice chat and "warm up" in a café in Stockholm. After a few days of wonderful sun clouds and a bit of rain had come up but we were in great spirits and had a good time. We then split up to get ready for the concert. The tube twards the venue was quite filled with (already smiling) people. Globen arena is a HUGE hall, with room for abt 11.000 people and looked pretty sold out to me. The concert was amazing, wonderful, great, as always. Starting with "Dance me to the end of love", where Leonard sang quite a few "lala's" at places where he hadn't it in my previous concerts. His voice to me sounded better than ever and he radiated such a good mood and energy, even more so in the second set when the crowd warmed up a bit. Right at the start he promised they'd be giving the best they have and they sure did :-) We heard "Darkness" and "Born in Chains" in the first set and my was it good!!!! I've recorded both and am almost finished uploading it. I could only use my cellphone cam and obviously Leonards genius is too much for the little dumb thing to handle. So the pictures are not great but the sound is. Therefore I thought I'd load it up for you nevertheless :-) I LOVED both songs, heard them live for the first time.

This should be the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmsmW6PmIO0

At the end of the first set Leonard got a standing ovation from the whole huge arena, which I thought was phantastic.

The second set started when many people were still outside. He welcomed back the audience and thanked them for not going home during the break. Unfortunately many rushed to their seats when he was already singing his second song.

TBC - I got to run

Pearlvoice,

I really loved your videos. Best 'Darkness' I have seen so far. Sounds like he really meant it. Also 'Born in Chains' was the first video that I could really hear what he was saying. I love both of these songs. 'Chains' will surely be an aclaimed song of his. One for the ages. Thank you.
