Thanks, Bev, the new link works!

As for the song, it is beautiful, and the lyrics are perhaps even more poignant now. Lovely!

Glad it worked - third link lucky! Yes, I agree and I think the video enhances the feeling of the song.

And Geoffrey, I hope you can finally get to look and listen as well when you get back home.

Maybe Jarkko could add it to his list on The LC Files - https://www.leonardcohenfiles.com/songsabout.html
There is a similar title called Looking for Leonard Cohen, Pt. 1 but it's completely different.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to B4real ~ me

Hello,

I am so happy that you guys have found my song! The YouTube video has been revised (lyric added and some of the images are different). I need to remove that one you watched, although the link is still working today. This song will actually be on Spotify, iTunes, etc. on November 7, 2019. I had the video up for a few of my pals to watch and provide feedback.

I wrote this song in 2010 after seeing Leonard in concert in 2009. I decided on the 10 year anniversary of seeing him, and also the 3rd anniversary of Leonard's passing, that I would really dig-in and rework it.

Initially this song (for me) was about inspiration and losing my muse after seeing Leonard. I can't explain it, but I became really sad and depressed after I saw him. So I wrote it about trying to find some meaning in my own work, trying to find the muse, the spark, the motivation to write again and seeking out Leonard to tell me how to find it.

When I came back to it now (a decade later), the meaning to me has changed. Now I see it as a lament that the great minds of a generation are dying off and can never be replaced. I see it now as a meditation on grief and a question as to what the future holds.

I will come over here and post the revised video link on November 7. I'm glad I found this because I thought I had removed that version of the video. I don't want to compete with myself! But I'm also super happy that a few people thought of it and decided to listen again. This has made my dismal week a lot richer.

Thanks so much!
