Dear V,

I am so glad that this thread hasn't been messed around with and corrupted in any way, seeing as how meaningful the subject of it is.
That would have been a terrible shame I think, I am happy that hasn't happened :)

I remember, a while back, talking through posts with you Violet, about the nature of the poetry section, changing it's face and going through stages - sort of thing.
I see all things in circles and cycles, and so, what you had said to me made sense at the time, and I of course took your word for it too. The mood of this section has changed again it seems, and so I have that knowledge now.
This section is so rich and vibrant and seasonal, like an organic being with a life of it's own.
It is such a special place because of this.

Thankyou for your last main post too - that gave me goosebumps as well :)
BestWishes lovely Violet

Hi Alsiony.. it is so quiet seeming here right now.. as if in the aftermath of some great storm.

much later edit: most of this post I removed, given the post to which I was referring was removed at some prior point.

you may have seen that jarkko stopped by in another thread and deleted michael's 'Webmaster Jarkko' identity while simultaneously exposing several of his other irritating personalities. there was a long list of people he had 'invented', but jarkko kindly only mentioned five or six of them. michael is now smarting from having had his knuckles publicly rapped, so will be absent for a while in the immediate future - but the sulking will eventually pass and he'll be back. you will recognise him by the mischief he causes. he's a nice enough guy really, not been graced with too much sophistication or maturity, but tolerable in short amounts - just lets things get out of controll every now and then and has to be hauled back in. that's why he could never be made into a moderator, of course - because he has no sense of responsibility. there's simply something lacking somewhere. maybe he was overlooked as a child, i don't know, i am not an expert in this field, but his behaviour seems consistant with that of a youngster who was ignored by his parents. maybe he had an older brother or sister who took all of the attention and he tries now to make up for it, to make people notice him. in any case, you can be sure that he is not in high spirits right now, his pride is hurt, that little slap he has just been given in front of all of us will take time for him to come to terms with and digest. at this moment he is probably very angry, determined never to post here again just to spite the webmaster, hoping that this forum will become so quiet that jarkko will beg him to return. that's never going to happen though. it's growing-up time for him now. he has to accept that he is not the boss here, jarkko is.

.. well.. I'm in something of a bind, here, Geoffrey. I mean, I like you both.. and I hope you will both continue to post here. It would be dull without you -- and who cares about Jarkko's censure.. one needs An Iron Clad Parent Figure sometimes to control the kiddies. It shouldn't be something to feel too down about, I don't think. It seems inevitable.. and it shows us where the line is sometimes.

.. okay.

best to you, G,

fab post, Ren! I love you lots but remain too busy to play with you at the moment. I have considered our respective troll identities and have objectively concluded that although you comfortably beat me on quantity I win hands down on quality. however, there is one talent you posses which I just can't match and that is hackling into other people's accounts. I know you confessed to it some time back and we all forgave you for you are quite a loveable rogue. I think you have been doing it again recently, Karrenb. Even if I had your technical knowledge I would never do that. it's really strange that a man of your advanced years and your easily average intelligence dishonestly interferes with other peoples' private accounts. oh well, if it helps the loneliness then I guess I understand although not quite forgive. it's a serious character flaw, Geoffrey. multiple identities are fun, according to ones taste, your dishonest hacking, however, is immoral according to any standard of common decency.

No NO NO boys! Don't do this on this thread! Tsk indeed - :p
For the record, it is blatently obvious to me, after doing some simple working out (miss marple that I am), step back and see the wood not the trees type of thing, that there was more than one multiple personality going on here. But lets just leave it at that.
I must say however, that based on some private contact, I do not believe that Geoffrey is Karrenb - and I will leave that there also :)
Start a new thread for this kinda thing - get a room fellas ;)

yep, I accept that. karrenb was not one of Geoffrey's I think his most recent troll was the Osteopath (something like that, LC book character I'm told), mine was Webmaster Jarrko (deliberate spelling mistake).

never worry about us, G and I have been friends for at least 10 years and will be for another 10 or more (but I will never approve of his hacking)

I've said it before, but there are new 'regulars' here since then so I'll say again: I'm in almost-awe of anyone who can manage multiple ID's on the same forum – and imbue each with it's own personality... Harry S, the Keeper of Calibre... yah yah, at times he could be kinder and gentler, but we all can benefit from seeing ourselves as others see us... Marisha-anima allows her Banana-master to say things he wouldn't dream of saying (let alone shrieking). Marisha's so real to me, I have a visual image of her – kinda hyperactive-skinny, mid-length brown fuzzy curls, heavy eyebrows, red lipstick, and a tendency to squint her eyes to express 'say what?' She doesn't give a damn who likes her or not either... I suspect that Ren's creator would be embarrased to post such silly fun under his real name; Ren allows him to play and play la-la-la-la-la... I have a micro-crush on Ren, but he thinks I'm too serious or pedestrian or something... plus he spells my name wrong...

Even those of us with one ID add bits of our secret selves to our online personas – espec. those who have chosen a different name...

OK, elipses exhausted and and in retirement for the rest of the day... ...at least they aren't smilies (guilty, yer honour)!

I've said this before but I love the acronym of your chosen name I.F. - it holds so many possibilities and connected to you seems so positive.

Yes, that's what it feels like - like a great storm has just rumbled through.

I keep this haiku by Masahide, by my desk at work. It reminds me of that after storm feeling and gives me a sense of perspective when I'm at a loss.

.. that's funny, I.F. Now that you mention it, who popped into my head for Marisha is Roman Polanski's character in The Tenant.. after he turns into Simone Choule.. (it's a long story) Anyway, there are a few good shots of Marisha-Simone Choule, so to speak, in and amid this selection of clips. But first, let's ponder this Cartesian business (since we're on this identity thing).. and then a cool song with some Marisha-Simone clips cut in..

.. hmm.. my heroines are always on some suicidal ledge of some sort.. I may have to check in with that..

I don't see what harm I do. I never touch anybody's private messages, I just look - and I keep what I see to myself. Some folks are egoists, concerned only with themselves, while I am just the opposite. So now I am being criticised for having an interest in other people? I never mention or use anything I see so what is wrong with just looking? It's not that I do it often either, only about once a week or something - and nobody is any the wiser. I am skilled at doing it and I enjoy doing it - which are the only reasons i can see for your disapproval. breaking into closed areas is a hobby, a challenge, and an artform, like lock-picking. the golden rule is to not misuse one's talent by putting it into negative employment. nobody else here minds what i do, it's only you. because you have a lot you want to hide, probably.

Geoffrey,

I'd kinda like to think my PMs were private.

But if someone is hacking (or looking, as you say) I'd prefer to be aware of it, so thanks for the reminder.

Anyways, in my PMs to others, I often add a little note to you, in parenthesis...

Geoffrey

How can you possibly justify what you do!!!!!!!!!

You cause archaic bedlam and feel no responsibility.

You breed mistrust and confusion.

You say some folks are egotists but what does that make you some sort of evangelist!

It is like a safe cracker saying I only rob banks not peoples houses. And I only do it once a week (good defence. NOT!)

You say you just look…. How would you like it if I stood outside you house and opened you mail (just to take a look!), wouldn’t be nice would it.

You say you don’t misuse your talent, well to not misuse it, you shouldn’t use it at all.
You can hurt people whether you intend to or not.

Thanks for that.

Karren B xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

By the way have now lost what little trust i had in humanity!!!!!!!

I suggest everybody removes their inapropriate posts from Violets 'If I were a soliloquy' and give it back the respect it deserves.(sorry Violet to use your thread for that)

(Hehe, well once again we don't know if Dear Geoffrey is trying to be a wind-up merchant by either speaking the truth or telling a massive porkie. Tsk.
I am happy to have also read the statement of confidentiality (as I understood it) that you also included in your admission there Geoffrey - how thoughtful of you! haha.
Anyhows, while that statement required a response I think, I shall not respond further to it on this lovely thread - and so will ONLY accept PM's on the matter from now on (anyone fancy seeing if we can pm some stuff that will test even Geoffrey's nerve?? ;))

Hi Alisony,

While I appreciate your not wanting to segue from Violet's thread, discussing Geoffrey's hacking only by PM kinda defeats the purpose of a forum, where info/opinions are shared. Some of the most lively and long-lived threads are the ones that were allowed to morph. Plus V. has been known to divert a thread or two, I don't think she'd mind – would you V?
