Hi Witty Owl

Thanks for posting your poem in response...much appreciated :)

I wrote mine within a short time.. all due to me thinking of something in my past that I had not previously remembered ...and then suddenly having a horrible thought that there are other memories that I have not revisited and whether the time I have left is enough to visit all these memories ( bloody hell, this sounds morbid!).
Especially when I want to spend the forthcoming years having new experiences.. will these new experiences push out the old ones???.. also my brain cells are dying at a faster rate  you've got to laugh.....haven't you?
Now, where was I?
can't remember

All good things
pete

p.s. I'll write them all down..starting from now..but that will eat into the time I need for the rest of my life... I'll start my autobiography when I'm a bit older   ...... if I remember

Pete,

Here comes a new experience! Ah well, out with the old ones, even the old grey matter needs a spring clean now and again. If the hard drive runs out of room and the RAM gets constipated; you may even need to do a total format :!:

Seriously though, I do not think it matters how many brain cells are left; the memory persists if the chemistry does not dry up or the nerves keep on firing. I don't think our memory is like a photograph. That is, if a photo is chopped up, any of the bits provides a clue but not the complete picture. If a holograph is chopped up, any piece contains all the information to assemble a complete image. So I think our memory is more like a holograph (hologram). Memories are contained within the matrix of the brain not stored away in different file locations.
Does this make any sense??? :P I must think about this some more if I don't get all thunked out.

Thort-fulll Owl.
