Philippe, It is kind of you to offer assistance to the travelling Cohenites ! I am thinking of going to Grenoble too. I have not found the Palais des Sports on the map, and I wonder is it anywhere near the hotels you mention ?

hi !
and welcome ! i'm glad to see there'are people thinking about coming over for the show, from England, from Ireland ! That's just great ! (I'm mean, of course it would be so much better if they decided to tour in G.B. and Ireland (I'd love to go and hear L.C. in Dublin) - but the idea of travelling to attend a L.C. concert is stimulating, isn't it ?
Have you ever been here, in Grenoble ? It's not exactly a beautiful city you've got to see once in a lifetime ... But if you like mountains sights and landscapes the country is worth visiting. And if you ski, early March is just the right time !
Dont' worry about the venue : it's in the center, actually, in a park, called "parc Mistral" easy to find with google map : the "palais des sports" stands just behind the city hall). From the hotels I mentionned it's about 25 walking. But there's also a tramway which can take you there.
There is another hotel nearer from the venue, but more expensive too, l'hotel Mercure :

ou :
http://maps.google.fr/maps?sourceid=nav ... CCoQtgMwAA
here is another more expensive hotel right in the center town :
http://www.hotel-angleterre-grenoble.com/
If you want, i'll think of a good bar or pub where to meet, before, and maybe after the concert, so we could have a sort of Grenoble L.C. meet-up
See you in March
Philippe!

Thanks Philippe, found Palais des Sports now. Trianon looks good, and 25 mins. away sounds fine. I have never been to Grenoble, it is always good to see a place for the first time ! Leonard did four concerts in Dublin last year, so he too seems to be going to new places this year.

I just need a good ticket and I'll be there, because I already have tickets for Strasbourg and Tours, so I need to do something between those shows. Grenoble seems to be the choice rather than Marseille, because it's almost "on the way"
Philippe, I was trying the link you posted, but they only have Block A on sale online.

Hi Actually,
Come on, let's come over and do your own France Tour 2010 !
Concerning your ticket, i'm afraid they keep Block B seat for selling directly at the venue. And if you try fnac.com, in my opinion, you'll be proposed only Block A seats.
But don't give up, there're many tickets-seller websites. Did you try some others, like ticketnet.com ?
Hope you'll find something
(and don't forget block A and C seat right along the central aisles aren't that far from Block B : it's quite the same place)
Take care
Philippe

Hy Philippe. Is it easy to get from Lyon airport to Grenoble ? Looks as if I will have to fly in to Lyon, daytime flights, so shouldn't be a problem I hope. What would you recommend, bus ?

Hi,
There's absolutely no trouble if you decide to land at Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport. You'll find a bus shuttle that'll drive you to Grenoble in one hour. And there's departure every hour. This shuttle let you at the bus station, right by the train station in Grenoble center, where there's also a tram station. (shuttle rate : 30 euros round trip)
So, don't hesitate !

Will be good to have LC fan company in the Trianon in March.

Weather should be better by then, FREEZING here now, but if Winter comes, can Spring be far behind ?!

Hi Philippe,
I hope you're trying out all the bars in Grenoble (if the snow is not too bad ) so that you can find the best one for pre concert get together! March doesn't seem so far away now. Wonder will many others go to Grenoble; I suppose the Cohenites will be scattered among the different venues, except of course those who are going to them all ! Or are they only dreaming of that...

Hi Ann, Hello everyone,
Sorry I've been a long time away from the forum ....
You're right, Ann, the 9th of March isn't that far now, which seemed lost in the distant 2010, back in last november. But here we are, only just more than a month to wait, and Mister Cohen, and you of course, will be here ...
We now see large posters advertising the concert from place to place in all the region.
Last week everything here was covered up with snow, cold weather, but so beautiful. (But I think a lot of people, specially in Great Britain and Ireland, had their share of snow this year !)
How long will you stay in Grenoble ?
I'm thinking of a place where to meet before the concert ... maybe an irish pub ?
But if you, and others long travellers Cohenites stay a few nights, we could have dinner together in a good restaurant, the night before the show, for example.
Take care
Philippe
