That is so obvious that I feel pretty silly not to have thought about it!
I shall do that.

I should have checked my facts before suggesting that I had a version of Suzanne by Ellie & Rikkert. It is actually by Herman van Veen on one of his albums. I knew it was on a Dutch record, but memory can be a strange thing. Especially mine
I am sorry if I raised anyone's hopes.

We have solved this mystery - the special limited edition
was after all (as suggested here earlier) just an imported
version of the same product.
Probably HMV ordered copies of the album from US
before it was released in Europe, and now they are
trying to sell the expensive version as "limited edition"!
Thanks to Kelley and Sony for checking this out for us!

Jarkko! Can they checked for us what is digipack of Songs Of Leonard Cohen, and has it Joan Of Arc in flames on back side:) If it has, enough reason for me to buy it... I like digipack editions.

I have all the 'normal' CDs. And many of them on real records, too. I am tempted to buy the digipack, which is £5.99 in HMV, just because it is there. You are right that it is a superb album. My favourite, if I had to choose, would probably be "Songs From A Room", though even saying such a thing almost seems disloyal. Does that make any sense?
By the way, Tom, I don't think that the digipack has a picture of Joan of Arc on the back, but I shall try to check for you.

Hi Rhodes ~
It makes sense to me, regarding the albums, as well as individual songs. The world of marketing ~ cheeky, indeed!

Tom Sakic wrote:So i was right now on Legacy site, that's actually name of Sony/Columbia's label for The Essential releases, and they actually don't have Cohen in their catalog!? So after some circles thru Sony/SonyATV/SonyUS sites I found The Essential, with link to Jarkko's site

Very funny, so we must know more than Sony about this release.
Anyway, I found the option "search by catalog number", paste there number from hmv, and there's no such CD, at least in US, under that catalg number...But, Jarkko, I see something: new Jeff Buckley release Live At Sin-E with another Hallelujah cover for your Covers Section, from Legacy label.
Which probably means that the catalog number of "The Essential Leonard Cohen" is NOT THE SAME in USA and in UK
"Songs Of Leonard Cohen has Joan Of Arc in flames backs

Actually, it's the picture of an unchained woman in flames. It is called "Anima sola".
The "Anima sola" subject appears in a film, wich is now at movies, called "Gothika" (Those who have seen the film know what I'm talking about!).
I tried to post this subject in the forum a couple of weeks ago or a week ago, or so, but nobody replied to my message. Can anyone confirm if that picture is the "Anima sola"?

Did we ever hear any more about the acetate?
