Thanks very much for the information. I just booked a seat on the 11:45 flight. Over the last few days I have been doing a lot of soul searching about whether I can afford to go to both concerts. I have decided that it is most likely a once in a lifetime opportunity, so I'm going to throw caution to the wind and am planning on going to Las Vegas and San Jose. Now the nail biting begins waiting for the pre-sales!

Hi Mary,
Great news! It looks like a lot of us will be doing the same thing! I booked a seat this morning on the Southwest flight at 1145am. It will probably be filled with Leonard fans. We could do a sing-a-long

It seems that almost everyone who is planning on Las Vegas is deciding to finish in San Jose. What a gathering this will be!
All the best,
Diana

I completely understand your predicament! As one of those thirty-something fans, I have two tween stepkids, an almost 3-year old and a baby due any time! For Seattle, my mom drove from Canada to Spokane to watch the older ones; hubby, toddler and I drove to Seattle and hubby babysat while I went to the show. For Red Rocks, I flew to Denver on my own - we thought with the new baby coming it would be a good idea to test out that first night alone without mom for our 2-year old. But, then with the postponement, I really had to get right back home the next day. For the fall tour, there's nothing close, but we'll again find a sitter for the older kids; hubby, little ones, and I will fly somewhere that's not too far or too expensive. There's not another artist of any kind I'd go to these lengths to see - in fact sometimes I still can't believe we're planning this! Very glad to hear there's someone else here who knows what it's like! Ah, the logistical joys of family life! Good luck in making your arrangements!
Good luck with your upcoming delivery, babies are fun! (and there is no point in worrying about the "babies are a lot of work" part right now...)
Surprisingly, I think I have found the way to attend another concert without relying on grandma's schedule: Durham NC, November 5. It will be a 5-hour drive, we can stay with friends who live 15 minutes from the theater, if we go a few days ahead of time the kids will be used to the new place and sleep right through, they won't even know we were gone. I'm officially excited!

So many of you heading to Vegas are new to me. Of course that's understandable since I hardly post anymore (been around the ng and forum since 1998 though). I'll watch for a meet-up. Vegas is 90 miles from me. Who would have thought...Leonard at Ceasar's?!

I'm starting to think we can't justify a mid-week trip to Vegas, and then sprint back to SJ for Fri. I could go alone with these good southwest deals but there's the whole childcare issue while hubby works (ane he doesn't have that Veteran's Day holiday off!). I think I am going to have to choose, which makes me want to throw up. lol I guess the logical choice is SJ, close to home, last show, historic and all. I just think LV would be so fun, such a unique place to see LC!! arrrrgggghhhhh
you are too funny, esther. too funny. can't wait to see you again.
you HAVE to go to both shows, and you know it!! since apparently you've given barcelona a pass. i'm flying out of san jose into las vegas so it's a simple round-trip and very affordable. we can go together if you want to. and hotel rooms in vegas are of course more than affordable. would be fun to stay at caesars, i think. and i know your husband will understand and be supportive. please be there for both of them. it just wouldn't be the same without you.
talk soon.

oh mary/mollydog, mary/maryb (and george!), and ladydi/diana (and dave??),
i am SO happy to hear you're all going to be at the shows in vegas and san jose!!! can't wait to see you all again.
i think we must find a way to get lizzie to these two historic concerts. it just wouldn't be the same without her.
we are going to have so much fun. and if anyone wants to factor in an extra day to go winetasting up here in napa where i live, that would be extra wonderful! i suspect we're all wine lovers. i know marsha/friscogrl and sarah are, and they would have to join us as well. what a great mental picture, all of us drunk on wine, women/men and a certain someone's songs...
can't wait to see you all.
best wishes and warmest regards, always,
bonnie

I understand what Esther is saying and I also understand what bonnie is saying. I would love to go to both shows but I can't see me flying to vegas renting a room, then flying back home for a show the next day. Maybe if i was younger

. And I think the show in Vegas will be fun. It would be easier to justify going to vegas if one could make a weekend trip out of it especially for Esther and her family. But it seems like it will just be San jose for me. But I am already hyperventilating at the thought of the pre sale

i am glad to hear that Diana and Mary are flying west for the shows. Is mary B coming also?
P.S. I DO loe the wine tasting idea

If I'm crazy enough to fly from Ottawa for both concerts, then you California girls have no excuse!!
Looking forward to meeting you all again.
Mary
(Bonnie - I'm planning on flying back to Ottawa on Sunday the 15th, so wine tasting on Saturday would be perfect!)

Sorry everyone, Vegas and SJ are on the backburner right now. We'll see how it goes later on. Am concentrating on Columbus and maybe Cleveland at this point. But, LV and SJ, sooooo enticing with everyone going to be there! Maybe, I'll just come alone, although I wouldn't be alone with all of you there

!

Mary B....I hope you get the best tickets possible for your hometown Columbus and Cleveland..
and then I hope you check out Las Vegas and then come to San Jose and get that ticket the next week...
or wait for awhile and see how you feel..
but..come with George or come alone..there will be lots of us there to hang out with..
and it won't be the same without you...
that being said...whatever you decide is fine..but we would love to see you there.

Hi Marsha and Esther,
Okay guys, I'm with Mollydog on this. She's coming from Ottawa, I'm coming from Detroit, MaryB may be coming from Columbus...and I'm sure there are more making the trek from the east coast....so you guys on the west coast can easily handle a round trip to Vegas!

I do understand Esther's problem with kids etc, but I also know you
really want to come....where there's a will, there's a way! And can't use the age angle Marsha....I'm probably older than most of you

. So, think about it deeply.... It will be wonderful to see you guys in San Jose but would be even more fun to be at both concerts! Remember that SJ might be emotional, but LV will be a blast!
Anyhow, I know if you can't, you can't, and do understand.
Bonnie...the wine tasting sounds tempting...I may decide to stay over if I can figure out how to get to Napa and then back to SFO to catch a flight on Sunday.
