In November 2006 , during Diabetes Awareness Month, the Canadian Diabetes Association "proudly announced" that people using insulin for diabetes are no longer barred from applying to work as regular constables for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. "The Canadian Association applauds the RCMP
for adopting a policy of individual assessment and implementing the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Diabetes Mellitus Medical Guidelines."

What that means is that if my daughter ever joins the Rikki Canadian Mounted Police, she will arrest you for your horribly misjudged comments.

Despite that, Good Night to you and all who sail in you

That doesn't remove this fear of what I will do.

you are acting very weird, but I'm sorry I can't play tonight. my thoughts are only with my daughter. I won't be replying to you further about this (and not reading you either as you are now back on the "foe list" and your posts won't show on my computer. It's better I am not distracted by you being silly).

my elder daughter, Rikki, came back from the Glastonbury Festival on Sunday complaining of terrible stomach problems and other symptoms. one of her friends who shared her tent has since gone down with Swine Flu. Rikki went to the Doctor today, no Swine Flu, medium hooray, but she has type 1 diabetes, massive BOO. I reassured her she will need to inject only for the rest of her life.

this parent thing is quite tricky sometimes...
Lion of Lions,

My thoughts are with you and your family. I hope things work out the best possible (or least negative) way. Take care you all.

thank you so much, Rel.

so many people have been very kind and thoughtful in their wishes here and by email. you have given me support and friendship and have, incidentally, made it much easier to ignore the one cruel "no-mark" who posted on this thread.
