Dublin preconcert meetups

Hi sll,

Will the meet up take place on Sunday before the show. The suggestions of a hostelry in Ringsend sounds good. I have a ticket for Sunday and hope to get another ticket on Monday morning for July 22nd.

I will be in Hydra for a week from 11-18 June - look forward to meeting my fellow Irish men and women there to sing a few songs.

Remember what Roscoe Beck said about us -"....the audience in Dublin.... reverential silence when it was necessary and 12,000 people singing in unison ..... "

Lenny just loves us - we understand the magic of music in connecting people.

Sorry I cant get to Hydra, but will be there at end of October. I suppose there will be a meet-up before each concert?

The Harbourmaster Bar in the IFSC has been suggested as a meetup venue for the Dublin concerts. It's quite near the O2 and was used for meetups before the "Came so far for beauty" shows, and was found to be suitable. So unless anyone has any particular objections, will we go ahead with this as a venue ? As there may be quite a crowd, I'll see if they can reserve a section for us from about 5pm. on concert nights.

Hi all!

Am brand spanking new here..always been L.C fan but much more so in last 6 months or so..(not sure why!)..been browsing here and now that I'm going to the Wednesday gig (fairly ok seats!) thought I'd just pop on and say hello!

So..

Can't wait for the gig so much, wish I could've got to tickets earlier and got the last night! There were a few available when i checked but such bad seats..thought I'd go for the Wednesday instead..Although I've a feeling I'll love it so much that after Wednesday I'll be willing to stand on my head up the back to see the Thursday show!

Anyone else here going on the Wednesday?..

p.s Also did I read that some of you Irish folk are off to Hydra?..How exciting! When exactly is the trip?..Or is that the trip I've just seen pic's of?..Hard to navigate the hugeness of this place as a beginner!

Yep the Hydra trip is just over. There were 80 people from many countries (8 of us Irish) there for various lengths of time from around the 9th to 18th June. The Hydra meetup is just an informal gathering of LC fans. It usually happens every second year. The more formal events occurs on the intervening year. (Next year it's in Krakow.) It was my first time on Hydra and I really enjoyed it.
Will this be your 1st LC concert.?

Harbourmaster a very good suggestion, Tony, if I may say so I was there before the Came So Far for Beauty shows and it worked out very well. Look forward to travelling on Wybe's bus again and meeting you all on Sunday and Monday.

Hydra sounds great..lucky you! I'll have to scout around here to see the pic's..I'm presuming threre's lots of pic's! So will you be going to Krakow then?

And yes, my first LC concert! Am sooo excited..Have the whole day off so am hoping to *bump* into him quite literally in town on the day..you never know! Dublin's quite small.. still, then there's always the matter of what to actually say other than 'Y-y-you're him..I just think you..you're.. phhhffflllpbbhh...'^general disentegration occurs^...Hmmm..maybe it'd be best to just admire from a distance what do you think?..

We know each other! Can't believe it's such a small world! Ok some clues..

1) Once had a shared love of a certain Mr O Maonlai..much more on your part though..
2) I used to go out with a bearded bodhran player..
3) I used to nick your fags and smoke them in the little cubby-hole in Koko's..
