Leonard Cohen is returning to Ireland this summer for a clutch of concerts, it was revealed today.

The hugely-influential singer and songwriter will play two gigs at The O2 in Dublin as well as one night at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena.

Tickets priced between €90 and €125 for all three dates are expected to sell out within minutes.

Cohen is renowned for his songwriting career spanning five decades, which has explored the themes of love, sex, death and religion.

Among his most well-known songs are 'Suzanne' and 'Hallelujah', which have been widely covered by other artists down through the years.

His three critically acclaimed performances in Dublin’s Royal Hospital Kilmainham last summer sold out in record time and were received with rave reviews.

Tickets for the O2 gigs on July 19 and 20 go on sale on April 7, while tickets for the July 26 Belfast concert are released on April 3.

I caught the end of an item on Newstalk about the concerts and heard them mention the €125 ticket price. I see Roro has got more info from TV3, and a friend tells me there are €110 tickets also.

Yeah, just saw that there. Pretty damn expensive, really, but, as they say, "he's worth it."

I am totally shattered I cannot afford to go now with those prices...............why are they so expensive

why is it £75 in England and a whopping €125 in Ireland.Have we become so greedy here? I despair.

Yeah the ticket prices for Kilmainham last year were higher than the other European dates. However ticket prices for all artists, not just Leonard, seem to be higher in Ireland.
That £75 in the UK works out at c€80. Is that the lowest or the highest ticket price.?

If you are sitting in the back of the o2 you will have to rely on the screens and the last gig i was at there, the screens were very small.
It was a pity.

ycarts, are the back seats really bad, ya? What about the middles ones?

well the venue is huge so the closer to the front the better, Vision is very good everywhere except at the sides of the stage, that is if they are leaving the stage in the usual way. The side seats close to the stage on the first level have not great vision. The last time i was there they did not sell them because of that problem.
Sadly, I wont be going because it is just way over my budget.

the cheapest tickets for dublin is 90 euro, so the chances are the dearest will be 125 euro, fairly expensive.
Will probably go , but it is a lot of money for a night out.
