Bill's Bar
As you say we will just have sit and wait until we have word one way or another.
Although I did just happen to check the Ryanair flights from Liverpool to Venice last night for that weekend in August and at the moment they are only £4.99 plus taxes each way!!!
A concert in San Marco would be about the only place on earth where I would break my rule of never again attending any more open air concerts.
IF the concert does happen AND I do manage to get a ticket it will be a chance finally to find out what happens to the bloody pigeons when there is a concert in the piazza
In the meantime barrette attraversate (with apologies in advance to Andrea and Marco for my bad Italian)

Re: Italy
Oh yeah, those bloody pigeons could be a nuisance all right.
I was at the open air concert in Lucca last year. It was a beautiful night in July and Leonard played until well after midnight. So I'd not think twice about going to Venice. Kilmainham in June was bit chilly, but not as cold as Springsteen in May.
By the way Tom I met a few people from Croatia at the Lucca concert.

Re: Italy
Hi friends,
if it really happens, we will organize a meetup in Venice t. Ken definetly knows nice bars, and we also know some or a place where we could rent a separate a room for a nice italian dinner and not too expensive (it is quite difficult in Venice to find a reasonable priced place) .
We are of course all excited about this beautiful venue, but until we do not have a confirmation of it , I am/we are quite ....or at least we faint to be quite
It would be too nice to be true ......if so, we look forward seeing you there
saluti da Verona, ciao
Andrea and Marco

Hi Andrea/Marco
That sounds like a plan.
And the only fault I find with Venice is being able to find a reasonably cheap place to eat.
But with you organising things, we can't go wrong

Re: Italy
I have heard from a very reliable inside source in the local government that the concert in Venice is going to be on August 3 and there is no doubt of it. Looking forward to seeing many Italian members (and international, too) there.

How about a concert at the Greek Theatre in Taormina, Sicily ?
I believe that His Bobness has performed there in the past, so if it's good enough for Dylan, maybe Leonard would like it.
I'd go !

Where would be the likely location for a concert in Venice? Is the square really a goer?

Wow.
Is the rest of the square closed to the public during the concerts?

Re: Italy
Jarkko - I want to know - is there any hope for Venice?
Re: Italy
It seems to me that early Summer tour is now closed, all new dates are in late August and September. I am still hoping that Venice will happen, but my hope is sinking lower every day.
Bill's Bar - we had great meet-up before and after the show in Lucca, there were many Italians, Croats, English, Australians and even from Japan
Andrea&Marco organised it via this forum. You're right about Croats - I heard much talk in Croatian and also Slovenian in the venue. There was also organised transport to the show from Zagreb.

Hi Tom
I haven't given up hope on Venice yet.!! The Italians have their own way of doing things...."domani"
I missed out on that meet up in Lucca. I hadn't been a forum member long enough to here about it, but we got talking to some Croatian fans in a bar just off the piazza before the concert.

Re: Italy
Having given up on Barcelona, I am so hoping for Venice to become a reality. Apparently from the people here, he would have a fantastic audience! We would even shoo the pigeons away for him
.
Hopeful regards,
Mary

Yeah, although the early Summer itinerary is closed, it seems that the rumoured Venezia and Istanbul shows (both announced by local media) are still hanging in the air... Let's hope both shows will happen!
