Well, I won't suggest you start the process, Paula.....want that humour of yours around.....even if you do think Leonard uses filler ~ ! For me, from all I've seen and read, Leonard's entire world seems to be one of precision, so I'm holding to "I didn't come all this way t' fool ya'....."

marinating is a wonderful idea. I can think of so many different recipes for the marinade

Take a bottle of wine, stir in Ten New Songs and some candle light, and what ever spice you like and marinade for hours.


Any other recipes? Forget the funeral.

Great Linda! My initial thought had been that she might want to use something out of the "That Don't Make It Junk" stock, but I couldn't get any further than that, so jest [Freudian typo] let it go....I wanted to do something with it.

Hmmm.....recipes, and here I am on a grape fast. Just came from picking them myself from the orchard; loving the feel of the sunshine/feel of the shade/the fresh air; smell of the green; sight and touch of the grapes and leaves; conversation with the older man who owns the orchard; sharing my pick with the elderly man too unhealthy to pick; picking for the next two, whose health won't really allow their being in the sun ~ real life. What a great morning.

My esteemed espouse has very strict instructions to pickle whatever's left of me in gin and nicotine, then prop me up in an open box, and invite all family, friends and acquaintances to a riotous assembly I have insisted that the required music will be LC, Mozart, Beethoven and Carmina Burana, plus anything else found amongst my CDs - there's plenty variety there so everyone should be happy and the assembly should continue on it's riotous way until well into the following week.

I also insist on copious amounts of gin and Southern Comfort being consumed on my behalf while this particular bit is repeated until the entire assembly is under the table. :

I'll begin my meager savings now, Jo.....airfares nearly prohibitive. If you'll just hang on until I can afford my ticket, you should have a long life, and possibly be already sufficiently pickled....saving your esteemed espouse the time and trouble . Sounds like the kind of wake I'd be honoured to attend. Thanks for the invite . Mine shan't be nearly so elaborate, but you can at least count on "Leonard" being in the mix. Maybe someone can finally get me to choke down a Red Needle . You're certainly welcome to come along to mine! In fact, I expect it, after I've made it a point to be at yours .

Seeing that there are so many replies so quickly it just goes to show how many here think of their ultimate demise - or even their death! What a jolly lot we are. Perhaps someone might care to suggest that LC does a dvd to show at the funeral.

Delightful response and creation, Tony....perhaps I'll just keep searching for the wrong song . The answer to our quest for eternity on earth. So simple.

About two years ago I had to plan my funeral for real, so my answer to this is a genuine one. It was and still is Hallelujah.
