Site said no tix available when I tried fan club presale (best available) and password. Had to break down and get the VIP where I got row A. I'm thrilled and pissed at the same time!

I had no problem whatsoever getting tickets. Row AA Rear Orchestra $99.50 each. In fact, I was offered Row JJ first, declined those, and got these better seats.

I used lower case password and the Firefox browser. Not sure what you folks were doing wrong, but try again tomorrow with the AMEX presale or on Friday with the AEG presale. Regular onsale Monday at 10:00 AM.

By 10:05 the presale tickets were gone but you could still get FRONT ROW Orchestra for $549.50 in the VIP sale.

I just got two tix to the 4/13 Paramount show via Ticketmaster. I had a Ticketmaster account which sped up the purchasing process somewhat. I purchased right at 10:00 and got 2 tix in the lower orchestra, row K, for a little less than $200 each. At first I didn't enter the password because I didn't know where to do it, but then I figured out it was just to the right of where i indicated how many tix I wanted. I would have liked to get the $250 tix, but it wasn't offered to me.

I was terribly nervous! This is a lifelong dream for me. Thanks so much to the powers that be for the fan club presale! I feel relieved and ecstatic. Good luck to everybody.

I was hitting refresh on the Ticketbastard site for San Francisco starting at 9:50 AM, at which time it said that tix weren't on sale yet. At no later than one second past 10:00 AM tix did become available. I entered in the passcode info correctly and got this message:

Sorry, no exact matches were found, but other tickets may still be available.

* Select "Best Available" or "Any Price"
* Change the quantity of tickets requested
* Double check your promotional code or password, if you used one
* At the time of your search, another customer may have been viewing the tickets you want and then decided not to buy them

I did everything--tried caps, no caps, selecting 'best available', etc.--and no tickets.

Then I went on the San Diego Ticketbastard site and tried and there WERE tix available, so clearly it wasn't an error with what I was inputting for the San Francisco site.

Apparently, and I find this hard to believe and, well, sort of devastating, tickets to the SF show all sold out within ONE SECOND.

WTF!

There was certainly an issue. I was logged on and went for ticketmaster with the right pass and everything at 10 am sharp and still there were no tickets....Something was not right.

I too got in right at 10 with two tickets in Row K, far right side. No password issue, I copied/pasted the password from the announcement to save the time of typing it in.

Just for fun, I tried to get two more after completing the purchase and tickets were available in row FF. (I didn't complete this purchase.) By 10:30, there were no more available. I'm sure they allocated a limit for the fan presale. There is an Amex presale that starts Thursday AM at 10AM, you need to be a gold card or better Amex card (not a corporate card) and charge the tickets on an Amex card for the Amex presale.

I was able to get in at about 10:07 [and many times since] but get "no exact" matches for anything I have entered. [Can't afford 2 VIP packages...]

Tickets DID NOT sell out within one second.

The tickets DID NOT sell out within one second.

I think some of you gave up too early.

If you keep getting "no tickets available" that means that at that particular moment in time, the available inventory is all sitting in someone's browser.

The promoter often loads inventory piecemeal, so that if you had been persistent, you may well have found additional offerings. I kept checking even after I purchased my tickets just-in-case something better emerged and I was able to find tickets up until around 10:05 AM. If you kept trying and were shut out, you either gave up too soon or were doing something very wrong.

If you were able to get to the screen where you have to enter the ReCaptcha curvy words, then your password was entered correctly. It is CASE INSENSITIVE so whoever was stating that it had something to do with caps or lower case is DEAD WRONG.

Consider this your learning lesson and good luck on the upcoming presales.

DO NOT GIVE UP SO SOON!

Colombo,

I appreciate your pedagogical impulse. However:

I kept trying until 10:30 AM, continuously.

I entered the password correctly. I successfully entered the captcha text many many times, starting one second after 10AM.

No tickets.

I did not 'give up too soon' nor did I 'do something very wrong.'

You got lucky. A lot of us didn't.

That's the learning lesson.

Pricing Info Oakland Paramount

OK, this is what I have been able to glean so far re: pricing at Oakland Paramount.

The $251 tickets are the Orchestra pit seats. These are those portable "stacking" type chairs that you see at Hotel function rooms. There are 24 in each of the two Pit rows X and Y, with a center aisle separating groups of 12. In my opinion, these are INFERIOR seats to the rather nice theater type seats in the Orchestra and Balcony. YMMV. The Front Orchestra seats are $176, rows A-P. Since the VIP tickets include the very best of the front Orchestra, you are in effect paying a premium of (549-176) or $373 for these. Better to LC than a broker if you are so inclined. The $129 seats are the first 6 rows of the Balcony. These are really good seats for sightlines, although if you have row A in the Balcony and are short, you will find yourself wishing for a telephone book or booster seat to see well.
The $99 seats are the rear Orchestra (where I ended up) and perhaps the far sides of the front orchestra although I can't confirm that with certainty. The $69 seats are the middle and rear Balcony, rows G through Z. The balcony is pitched rather steeply, so that there is a BIG difference between the front row of the middle balcony and the last row of the rear balcony.

If you are looking for decent cheaper seats, consider selecting the $69 seats and shooting for mid-balcony. However, the house only has about 3000 seats total and you can't go too too wrong whereever you find yourself.

Oh, and BTW, the theater is also booked for 4/14 as a second show so keep that in mind. Many times for a second show they don't have a presale, they just put the tickets onsale right after the first one sells out. Could be onsale as soon as 10:15 AM Monday morning right after the 4/13 show sells out.

Are you sure? How do you know the theater is booked for another show the next day?

I was offered row FF on the floor but Ticketmaster said my credit card number didn't match the one they had on file for me and bounced me out. Since then nothing has been available. That was quick!
