Apparently LC was wrong when he said there was no one left to torture.
Great one, Mnkyface
So, Jarkko, will you be tapping a spoon on a glass to get everyone's attention before making a special announcement "live" at 12.01 am - precisely - at the post concert meet???!
That's the least he can do under the immediate circumstances, right, Wendy ?
Okay, let's start guessing...Leonard and his management have decided to sever all ties with Ticketmaster, and have come up with a new fooproof scheme to distribute tickets fairly!
How awesomely appropriate that would be, especially with someone like Leonard !
Dalai Lama!?! Puhleeze!
Yes... a New Album would qualify as the "Huge Major Announcement" ! And wouldn't it be AWESOME if we heard a song or two from it at this special, Beacon concert . And, how wonderful to have the announcement come at 12:01 AM on February 20th !!!
Well, baited breath and all, I await... Go Leonard! Go Jarkko!
Love,
Lizzy

While Anne's suggestion is good I have it on very good authority he will be replacing Roger McGough at Barmouth.

Yes, Paula you are right, and he is also walking with us. But I think Leonard will be back in the hotel as we are half way with the condition he has running on and off the stage every evening in the last year.
***the announcement will have nothing to do with Montreal / Jarkko***[/quote]
Jarkko,
You have put cold water on my theory about the announcement of a tour ending in Montreal.......could you possibly mean just part of the tour will be announced?
I know, I know....you cannot divulge ....
Oh well, we will all just have to go to LA !!
Leonard from Montreal .... same name ...., same town ....no golden voice
We're all on one road....we're only passing through....
1967 Montreal / 2008 Toronto/ 2009 New York Beacon /Boston 2x /New York MSG / Chelsea Hotel Plaque Celebration /San Jose / 2010 Las Vegas 2x / 2012 Montreal 2x /Boston 2x
Well, you little detective you, St. Theresa. You may be right. That would be very appropriate for Leonard to perform in Austin... and with such proximity to so many who have yet to see him.

I came upon this because I was googling the venue "Creekside Hilton Garden Inn" and info was so sketchy I realized it couldn't possibly be a suitable venue for a full fledged Leonard Cohen concert. But I'm betting he'll play an arena or large outdoor venue in Austin within a few days of The Webb Sisters performance...

I suspect it will be about a tour extension. I have tickets for Coachella, but would love to see him again at the Wiltern or anywhere within a few hours drive.
Heck, I was willing to fly to NYC from LA to see him with my daughter if she could have nabbed some tickets. They were all gone in a few minutes.
Lenny's music forms the background cords to my life and has helped guide me through some rough times including my recent bone marrow transplant for leukemia (see http://bkoffman.blogspot.com/). Now, I am well enough to go to a concert. But I don't take anything for granted, especially a chance to see Leonard Cohen live in concert.
It was easy to score tickets before when I saw him here and when I lived in Montreal in the 70s. This time I expect it will be more of a challenge, but I am getting ahead of myself. It is hopeful and logical, but presumptious to expect the news to be about seeing the man in the flesh.
Multiple NY Dates at Radio City Music Hall. Owned by MSG, same owner as Beacon.... Will start with one and add dates...... David Byrne and other are using Radio City...... They wont use MSG.... but One MSG or multiple Radio City.... More dates more money, more ticketmaster fees.....more demand..
Again, anyone have 1 ticket to Thursdays show......
Hi Jarkko, I wonder if you could tell us whether it is important that we have computer access on the actual day of the announcement (Friday, Feb 20). Assuming that the announcement may require some action on our part, will it be OK if we only read the announcement on the weekend? Thanks for any advice that you may be able to provide.

I'm about the third so far to echo John's sentiments about those 'legalised criminals' at Ticketmaster. Wouldn't that be great!

Yes, so do I, probably the US one. But like John too, I live in wild hope that Leonard will grace the UK with one more gig, just one more....
