I was not prepared for this: These songs move me more than I can say.
From the moment I first heard Henning's haunting voice on "Wisdom", I was hooked. Since I got his cd a couple of weeks ago, I have played it over and over again and it gets better all the time. I sing along when I finally get home in the afternoon, I call my daughter on the phone to let her listen - and she says: Leonard Cohen, isn't it?:-) I even cry in my sentimental moments late at night when I don't want to go to bed. Words like "I want to be lost among your thoughts" cut straight into my heart. Henning's voice is so emotional, so tender and sincere. The piano is perfect. It is all there; the beauty, the longing, the pain - and the comfort. Oh, and the irony of course. It is like Leonard left these poems without a melody, waiting all those years for Henning and Lino to turn them into songs.
Henning's cd is a dedication of love to Leonard Cohen from a most devoted artist - and I love them both.

This is far beyond what I expected when I started this in 2000. On a warm July evening I was reading "Energy of slaves", I really was dying and suddenly there was a tune. I was like "Oh what is this ?" and so it went on and on and by the end of 2001 I had almost the whole book dressed in chords. "Do you need another proof of your insane nature ?" I asked myself. The answer was "Yes". In April 2002 I went to the only hairdresser I know and asked him what I have to do to record a song.
Despite that he never gets a dime from me for what he calls his job he invited me to his house. After he had listened to a song he said, "it's bullshit, but let's record it". Later when he brought me to the door he had this "I am happy when you're gone" smile on his face. I turned to him and said "Thank you very much for your support". "It's a pleasure to me to
help a good friend" he replied. "I've got 80 of those" I added. Good lord, I have never seen such a face before.
I am very happy to read all these comments in here and it is making me confident when I step into the world each day.

Dear all,
I agree to all those positive comments for the eccellent music, which accompanies the words of "energy of slaves".
A very cohen like sound and a beautiful voice .
A very passional work; one can hear and feel the love which is in it.
Henning thank you for having realized this work and that you gave us the possibility to share it with you.
Grazie anche per Lino. (Thanks also to Lino).
Un abbraccio (a hug)

I've just begun the process to get Energy of Slaves. After that, I read the lyrics to Prayer, and then Wisdom, the one selected for listening. I can't do that from home due to lack of a speaker wire; however, the words alone are beautiful. I really look forward to hearing this creation of yours, Henning. Not only the reviews from those who have heard it, but the poems you chose to put into song, to begin with.

Today I have learnt that somehow I didn't receive all requests that people have sent. I think there was a problem with the email server. I use to reply to all emails that I get. I'd like to ask those who didn't get an answer to try again. Thank you.

My copy arrived today (thanks Henning). I agree wholeheartedly with other posters. Andrew, Bobbie and Elsie have really said it all but...
During my 2nd listening my wife Kay came into the room and said, "Well, what do you think of it?" My reply was almost spontaneous. "It fits," I said.
Now that may sound simplistic (and it is), but it is now hard to imagine that the words ever existed without the music. Henning has captured the mood and feelings of the poetry and has been inspirational in composing music and providing vocals that "fit." I could carry on with all sorts of superlatives (moving comes to mind), but really, quite simply "It fits!"
Congratulations and thank you to Henning and his helpers.

PS. Thanks for the little accompaning note Henning. I reckon it might be worth quite a lot of money on e-bay in a few years!!

My copy arrived a few days ago (thanks Henning) and i stuck it on my computer at home(eventually fixed) and played it in the background, whilst i went on to the LC Board(how apt).
Henning you have done a tremendous tribute to the old master. Some of your songs have captured in time, the feel of "Songs from a Room" and you have done yourself and LC proud!!!
I am now playing your CD in the car, to get a better flavour of the songs and i am very impressed. Any good and true fan of LC should obtain a copy of this excellently produced and mastered CD for their collection!!
Thank you Henning...............Georges

My copy arrived today. I had heard some of it previously at Gloucester but it is now such a privilege to give it my undivided attention.
It has captured me.
Some songs are now meandering in my mind whilst others are hanging in mid air waiting to be embraced.
I won't be able to let it go.
There are few albums which do this and this is definitely one of them.
It is an astounding collection of songs and I salute you.
Thankyou so much
regards
Pete
