Jurica we are possibly one of the only countries that have four seasons in one day in the same area. But at the moment while the south is not so much basking but sweltering in the hottest conditition for a few hundred years the midlands are having torrential rain storms. And there is only a few hundred miles between us.

Whats it like in Croatia at the moment?

I can't wait for the rain to return I love it.

I'm looking forward to the minuses hitting the temperatures. When, as long as it doesn't rain (the backs of my legs get wet) I am in heaven unlike now when it seems like hell alleviated by occosioanl ice cold Strongbows.

Hi Everyone in Europe!

Sorry everyone is so miserable. I never realized that upper 90's and 100 degree F was so unusual in Europe until a couple of years ago. A friend of mine from London came to visit the U.S. and had rented a car in New York to drive down to Florida. This was in June and July. He asked for a car that was not air conditioned. My friend was always teasing me that Americans were not rugged and too coddled with all that air conditioning.

At the car rental in JFK airport he insisted once again that he did not want air conditioning in his car. The rental agent tossed him the keys and said:
"You are going to be sorry, Pal." My London friend and his wife told me later that before they got to New Jersey they were kicking themselves!

The next day they turned in their car for one that had air conditioning. :)

No, no, Pete - not apple and mango, apple and melon. It's green and for some reason it's only available in pubs and certain branches of Makro, but not supermarkets. Evidently its' taste only appeals to a refined minority like wot I am.

Coco being an island race we are a sturdy bunch provided it doesn't get too hot. You would be hard pushed to find a bigger selection of wellies, kagols and brollies in another country.

Speaking of brollies there was a spot of rain last week during the course of this boiling spell and you would be amazed how many people were still carrying umbrellas even in this weather the street was awash with brollies. They must secrete them about their person on a daily basis just in case

it's apple and mango.. (and this is an an orange colour)

unless................

there is also apple and melon.

Try Somerfield supermarket if you have one near you. We stock up from our local store and its much cheaper than the pub price.

Happy J20 dinking

In Croatia, Paula, is nice and warm for months now. I'm only sorry I don't have time to go to the seaside (like Tom who is probably cooling in water as I write this), and I'm afraid that weather don't change by the time I get to go (in two weeks) for few days.

Every year I have all the time I want, but it's never THIS sunny and warm (perfect for beach volley and cold drink in shades of some bar where all the young waitresses wear barely much more than Eve costume)... Sigh... My time will come, I know it. Next year.

God bless the global warming!

Bugger. There's a Sommerfied by us, and now I've been told that they are going to open a Makro store as well. What chance do I have now of being able to escape to the pub to get my J20 ?

Glad you discovered the green one, Pete. The other three are very good, but apple and melon is definitely in a glass of its' own.

Pete, I prefer the Guinness flavoured one. It looks exactly like Guinness and tastes the same, which is a miracle of modern science.
