How are people recording all these videos? I tried take a few simple pictures at the concert in Kitchener and an usher pounced on me for having a camera out.
Does the tour have an official policy on cameras?

Best to e-mail the videographer himself thru YouTube and ask how he did it. One said he used a tiny Casio he carried in his wallet and simply refused to stop recording until the usher threatened to throw him out. The world benefits from such persistance.

It serves both as a reminder for those lucky enough to attend one of the performances, and gives others a glimpse of the brilliance presented. The presentation features only very small portions of 3 or 4 songs and does not include any concert comments or storytelling. It will not ruin the experience of any future concert goers.
We are grateful Mr. Cohen commenced his world tour in Atlantic Canada. Thank you.

I loved this one. It must have taken you a long time to make it. Is there anyway to get some of the pictures you used? Some of them are so beautiful! Thanks.

After having seen the show, I do appreciate that some evidence of these performances exists out in cyberspace. And I don't think they are any real threat to a professionally produced DVD in the future. I will be getting that DVD as soon as it is released. But a word of caution to other fans who wish to film or photograph the event:
#1 You cannot be both in the moment and record the moment (think carefully how you want to spend those golden minutes with leonard);
#2 the point of discretion is not whether you will get thrown out of the venue by an usher, it is about how you might be affecting the experience of others who have gone to great lengths to see this show and have hopes that the night will be perfect;
#3 before you go into the venue, make sure that your flash is off and the display on your camera is off; if you can't turn it off, cover it with your hand and peak through your fingers to monitor that it is leonard you are recording and not the brilliant, but less entertaining, lights or the totally boring stage floor (though good sound will make the clip salvageable).

If the usher gives you a problem, ask him whether or not he likes YouTube. I don't know anyone who doesn't like YouTube and video sharing.
Or bring along your teddy bear:

I do believe it is a coincidence that this concert was on 6, 7, 8.
I attended Saturdays show with my cousin. His father was an avid Cohen fan years ago, before he passed away in a car accident.
So what I don't believe is a coincidence is that the concert date we were able to attend was on my uncle, his father's birthday.
Thank you so much for the Brian Elmore tribute show Mr. Cohen, even if you didn't know that's what it was.
Brian is in heaven and added Leonard Cohen songs to the angel's chorus.

Forgive me for the awful video but please enjoy the song. There are earlier recordings of this song with better video, but I prefer to listen to the concert I was at.

From John Intini, managing editor of Macleans.ca:
This week, our senior writer Brian D. Johnson has written a lengthy profile on Cohen (who talks about getting back on tour at 73, the bottle and ‘that pesky little financial situation’) and we’ve also posted an exclusive backstage video of Cohen that Brian took last week after a show and a full transcript of their interview on our site. Below is the link that can access all three pieces. Thought it might be of interest to your readers.

We try to keep this thread clean from anything else but links! That's why I ask you to post any comments in this other thread:

A recent interview with Leonard in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. There is a video offered as well, but the printed version is more detailed than the video presentation. This is from the Maclean's Magazine website.
