Paula,

This is a good idea about doing something as a group for Leonard's 70th birthday. I like the idea of a calendar. And we could do writings of our own in a Remembrance Book too.

Charles, I like the idea of a book with our collected thoughts to present to lc. However, I think we must change its name, if you understand what I mean.

I'm not sure if there's something in the idea of Rememberance - maybe a title such as I Remember you well... :)

The message was by no means unambiguous, Heretic. It is given to very few of us to predict the time of our passing.

At least when Partisan said that the master is telling us something and that we can't see the wood for the trees (star trek thread) he wasn't as blunt.. show some sensitivity and respect.

Why thank-you, Pete. I'm not a great one for anniversaries these days - most of them involve far too many candles  - but this one is definitely worth celebrating. Thanks for drawing it to my attention, I shall go and treat myself to a muffin forthwith

Heretic aka partisan aka p. aka ` aka James

I would normally not consider doing this. However, I am not given to cowardly displays of ignorance and vicious intent. Postings such as this one, accompanied by such a "graphic" [which one could reasonably deduce is from the same site as the banana] are ex-post-facto proof of the reason for the prerequisite that submitted editorials include a full name, with complete address, and phone number [the purpose generally known as accountability for things said in public arenas], prior to printing. However, in an arena such as this Forum, the personal quality of cowardice, unaccompanied by such a prerequisite, precludes such honest inclusion[s], even the most basic of a truthful name.

I suspect you people are not seeing the forest for the trees. The master just told you something very important.

It would not be polite to say it. The best i can do is to say i think Einat is half right as it were. But i may be wrong.

If i am right you will come to regret cheapening this thread Tysh Darling. Those emoticons will haunt your dreams.

Below is a PM I received on the date shown therein which, along with another [one] PM received later from the same party, I chose not to respond to at all. However, that this PM had been sent was mentioned by him in another posting [with the conclusion that it had apparently not been received ~ another wrong conclusion]. I also alluded to a portion of its content in my later posting on the Father's Day thread, when I spoke non-euphemistically regarding the [always] potential of anyone's [including Leonard's] death. I'll leave it to whomever to draw their/your own conclusion[s], regarding the thread we are currently in with the abominably tasteless, disrespectful, and asocially-insensitive posting that compels my response.

You have not even considered for a moment that he might be dying, and this is his way of telling us. Elizabeth your stupidity really does plumb the depths on occasion. If he does die in the near future you will regret your post, i do not envy you that. I have said it before and i will say it again, you really have no clue at all with the English language, you fail to grasp anything at all. What you think you understand is generally wrong. It is simply amazing. What is particularly remarkable is i do not think that that is a known side effect of O.C.D. You are indeed a true original.

Lizzytysh,

I hope you rethink posting a private message from another member. I have sent private messages to others. And I would be mortified if they were posted for all the world to see.

It doesn't matter what the provocation might be. partisan doesn't deserve this. Nobody does. And Jarkko can remove any posts that he deems in bad taste. Let HIM rebuke the offender. It is not your job.

You make your decisions, eeey. I will make mine. There are certain things I feel perfectly capable of handling myself. This is one of them.

Should any person anytime, anywhere, be concerned that I might "mortify" them with what they send me, that they might feel that I am obligated to maintain their anonymity, then I would suggest that they first ensure that their PMs are welcomed by me, as opposed to sending unsolicited and insulting comments toward myself and about others. My rethinking was done prior to the posting, and was duly addressed in the first sentence.

When partisan asked me in the chatroom several months back for my MSN [Instant Messaging] address, I refused to give it to him. When he asked why, I told him that the issue of trust is crucial and primary with me, and I do not trust him in my personal, private world. [At that time, someone said to me that I should have given it to him, as he's very selective about who is on his MSN, to which I responded that I am even more selective about who is on mine.] That he would erroneously [ironic that my understanding of the English language should be so questioned] assume that he would be any more welcome in my PM box than on my MSN speaks only to his inability to understand a clear message given him.

You, by the way, eeey, do not determine my empowerment to address my own situations and messages directed only to me; nor to my ability to add and subtract, and to share my sums with others.

Lizzytysh,

Private Message means exactly that. A private message. Why is this so difficult for you to understand?

If you have a problem with any other member, contact Jarkko. HE'S THE MODERATOR! He will be able to keep partisan from telling you privately that you do not understand the English language. O.K.????

eeey ~

The fact that someone chooses to contact me via PM does not obligate me to hold their undermining, or for any other purpose, messages in confidence. The idea of a Private Message is the freedom to have off-the-board exchanges with other people that you may not want others to be privy to....the presumption, of course, is that of willful, two-way exchange, or at minimum, respectful, one-way exchange. However, the receiver of these messages is not bound and gagged in the process. I have been here approximately one year and have never revealed publicly a PM. I have never received PMs, from anyone else, which I would ever consider revealing here....nor do I anticipate any. Because I chose to make a topic-oriented exception on this one remains my choice. Do you understand[???]?

In circumstances such as this, with posting it here, it's irrelevant that it came to me in a PM. What is it, eeey, that is so difficult for you to understand about my precipitating reason for posting the PM in question? The fact that I did not edit it in partisan's favour, prior to posting [I'm guessing you feel I owe him some form of protection], does not invalidate the consistency of details and commentary, therein, that mesh into blatant linkings. Had the primary focus been as you suggest [given your own erroneous understanding of the English language], this PM would not have surfaced as part of a response to "Heretic" 's posting.

In the meantime, please accept my invitation to never PM me.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Round 3

Lizzytysh,

Please spare us your "precipitating reason" for posting the private message. The fact is you received the private message on June 16th and never bothered to bring this "undermining" to the Moderator's attention.

You can blast partisan to smithereens on this forum publicly. Have at it. But it is underhanded and sneaky to reserve as ammunition in your war with partisan a private message that you did not deem offensive enough to report to the Moderator.
