I believe price is relative. A lot of the european dates are in large venues with standing as well as seated. . Tickets should be less, there is an intrinsic difference between a venue of 3000 or more and say one with 700 to 1000 people. I saw Cohen in 1970 in Halifax in a venue that held about 500 people and was it ever intimate. This time I have tickets at the Rebecca Cohn Theatre it holds 1040 and there is not a bad seat in the house . The theatre was built for its acoustics . Tickets for the Cohn were 80$, perhaps they should have been more?

Actually, the price for tickets for the Maritimes and Saguenay are around 100$ CDN for the front seats (I'm in the second row

) and aroud 70$CDN for the others. And it's all for rather small venues (700-900 seats) where it will be quite special. I don't know why the Montreal tickets are so expensive.

tickets in toronto are $250 for the best seats, ~$100 for the worst! unfortunately i'll be in asia when he's here so i'm holding my breath for some new york dates later in the year... or... vancouver dates at the beginning of may before i leave.
while it's very hard to swallow that price on a student (non-)income i'm prepared to. this is probably the last chance to see the legend live.
