three will be enough.

Was that three potatoes or three children?

My two are both threatening to invade
My serene mountaintop
Matthew, 28
and Lisa, 35
Both have a 'big swallow'
Like their dad
In his previous Incarnation
Sometimes I wish they had
Fewer drops of Irish blood.
I'm sure we had many
Supermarket moments
I wish I wrote a poem

still playing with it. this is about my sister, who has four now, but was thinking then that three would be enough, and her 2nd child. I have only one.

I played with this a bit more, and put it pretty much back the way it was. I liked having the "three will be enough" in the middle.

This was so very well done in describing the mother and child in the world that they occupy with the mother doing the work at hand and how the child is nearby and involved with her and she is involved with him.

It seems to show her looking so closely at him that more than just him and her become present and for her she thinks of the having of children in general and the one on the way.

I also like the way it ends with what seems like also a mother's letting go, a knowing that his world is not just her and her world and she sees him in the wind and the sun and that he will be drawn and moved by his curiousity and beams of love.
