the following from wikipedia.
Typical of California informality, Sacramento is referred to by many nicknames. The most common names are Capital City, River City (after the Sacramento River and American River), and the City of Trees (due to Arbor Day recognition as a Tree City USA for 29 years). The nicknames most used by those living in Sacramento are Sac, Sactown, Sacto and - fondly - Saca-pimientos, Saca-tomatoes, and Sacra-hogan. The area where Sacramento was originally developed is still in existence as a tourist venue, and is simply named Old Sacramento, or Old Sac.

Saca-tomatoes, huh?

If that's supposed to be some kind of endearing term used by citizens of Sacramento, I think I'll just use Sacred-Mentos. The Freshmaker.

Thanks for the research and input Grav-Hill. I'll relay it to my friends in/at "Sac".
But
why would LC ever choose to perform in Saca-tomatoes?
Much less Monterey? (Only place I can think would be Laguna Seca Raceway...afterall, the Pope appeared there.

)
Soooo, why not, downtown SF: the Orpheum, The Filmore, or Warfield --- or where I last-time saw him, UC Berkeley campus.
Perfect Bay Area venue would be San Jose Performing Arts.
Imagine on...

Well, you never know. Maybe LC would be thrilled to play a Supergiant show for my Gina. (shameless bragging again for my kid...
www.myspace.com/supergina.) She's doing the lights for Robert Trower this Friday and she goes, "He's some famous old guy." He sure is some guitar player. Now, LC, that's SOME old guy!

You may be keeping them crossed for quite a while... Per info in another thread, LC may not be touring the US at all this year; and certainly not this spring or summer.
I would love to see him play the SB Bowl, but probably too small a venue if he
did decide to tour the US (and would probably be playing only one or two spots in the US).
... I would certainly drive up from San Diego to see him there, and visit my brother at the same time...

what info says he won't be playing in the U.S. this year? i could only find speculation. i think people are just being paranoid and pessimistic - leonard will come through.
how can he forsake his current home (and, conveniently, mine) of los angeles?

So what are we calling the nearest venue? Toronto? I've got tickets for the 7th.

And I've got a ticket for the 8th in Toronto (I'm near San Francisco). But I'm hoping he announces a Western US and/or Vancouver tour so I can sell that ticket. The waiting and wondering is awful! Especially since there are some decent prices on airline tickets to Toronto, which may not last.
