I realised all your time would have been spent entertaining her and Prince Philip so I think we can forgive you this time just so long as you post a photo of the two of them on the sofa with you

philip...if you visited facebook more often you would have seen the very prince you mention going through the old sofa routine with you-know-who while on his recent visit to dublin.....as it closed at noon today i'm sorry to say you are too late to take part in the 'spot the difference' photo competition that i've been running on facebook all week ... but seeing as the competition is now closed i guess it's ok to post the photos up here to see if you can spot the difference yourself...but be warned it's not as easy at it looks....ta ken

Sorry to intrude on this entertaining thread. Just wondered if Bernadine, whilst carry out her Royal hosting duties, had the opportunity to find out if the Queen and Prince Philip shared Prince Charles admiration of the music of Leonard Cohen?

Hi ScottM
Welcome to the thread ! It is appropriate you should mention the prince of Wales on the welsh thread (soon to be german thread ) . I did read that Charlie boy likes a bit of our Leonards music but given that he has been known to talk to the plants in his garden I don't know whether his appreciation of Leonards music can be gratifying to other LC fans . People might get the impression that all forum members are bonkers and we all know thats not true . Only the ones who post on this thread qualify for that description

Sweet Lamb! You lads are worse than boys in the school yard. :)
Scott I did not get a chance to find out about the princes musical tastes as that is a ghost on the sofa, its not me, if you check the Dortmund thread on the world tour section you will see who was really on the sofa with me. Say hi to Helen for me too by the way :)

Phil I dont sit on sofas with women so no Queen picture for you, ghostly or not. I do like the princes polka dot tie though and still cannot figure out the difference between the 2 photos............ but that wall covering in the background is just the coolest.

LOL, Tinderella. I want to know what the Dalai Lama just said to you. It's clear he was expecting you to do more than just a sardonic [or self-conscious] smile. At least a laugh.

Lizzy... sardonic? meaning sarcastic? Oh I hope that is not the expression you see on my face there.... maybe it was a little self concious.

It is impossible to actually laugh in a photograph but I did have some real laughs when the photo was taken.

Ok then the Dalai Lama said to me that if we both removed our glasses, with our fuzzy eyesight the beautiful colours of our clothes look like an amazing sunset

Love it Ken.

I thought it was lovely of him when he said after tasting his Guinness..... 'I just want you to know, that the President pays his bartender and then put his money on the counter in that tiny pub in Moneygall

Yes Guiness can have a strange effect on the brain sometimes and make the recipient come all over benevolent and generous as demonstrated by the irish people . Thats why not much of the stuff is drunk in Yorkshire

I think skeptical may have been the word I was searching for... he seemed to be about to do a rib jab and "har har" behind what he just said, but what he actually said was just too Dalai-Lamaish observant for those. So, maybe just pleased with his observation was what your smile was about and he was just plain tickled to have noticed what he did.

Barack sure won't get any ideas with Leonard and you on the wall. I must say your outfit was veeeeery Presidential-appropriate.
