Henning wrote:Phil - you are joking. There will be medicine checks before the tour starts and that's no joke. This thing has been started for a certain reason and I won't make any compromises just for the sake of a song.
Can I take it that song won't be "Closing Time " Oh Well sobriaty it is then !!
Happy ( sober) days

The Hotel's concert area and dancefloor. Hoohah ... can't wait to see Phil and Ken move their ass to the beats of the 70's after a strenuous walking day.

I am afraid if the dance floor is only for the "beats of the 70's " then it will just be Ken who qualifies as I will have only just turned 60 at the time of the walking tour .

Only four months to go now . Viba thanks for all the photos, the calibre of music looks like it is gonna surpass Wales ( sorry Elvis).

Please post any more photos you may have, to give us all a taste of what we have to look forward to.

That hotel won't know what hit it when we all arrive :D. At least we can all disappear after 3 days like we did in Wales but poor Henning will still have to remain there and face the consequences.

henning..

.. i could be wrong but looking at the photo of the venue you posted up it looks suspiciously like the pole and table dancing club that you draggedWijbe and i to on the last night of this year's Tower of Song Festival weekend...I took a lot more photos if anybody is interested......ta ken

no doubt phil will click to enlarge these images

Ps Ken, as you see previously I did ask for all the photos... so come on.... Share!

bernadine....we did stay long enough to catch the club's two regular table top dancing male exotic dancers (not to sure if they had blue eyes but they were definitely wearing leiderhosen) ...however we had to leave quickly as henning realised that one of them was a fellow member of the forum ...ta ken

...now i wonder if phil click to enlarge this one?

I already posted about it on the Dortmund thread, but in case any of our friends here do not know.
Hennings football team won the 2011 Bundesliga Title.
This means that we all must buy him a drink when we get to Haiger ( and that includes you too Phil) and who knows , by the end of the night maybe we will see Henning jump as high as this guy on that dancefloor :)

....bernadine i'm afraid you have got that wrong...not sure about dublin but everywhere else in the world the tradition has is that the celebrant always pays for the drinks be it birthdays or any other kind of celebration...i know that phil will agree with me on this...

...of course it's completely beyond me why german supporters of borussia dortmund are celebrating the fact that their team of overpaid footballers from various countries from around the world have won more games of football than all the other teams in the bundesliga consisting of similar teams full of international for-hire-to-the-highest-bidder football mercenaries...but nevertheless i shall join in the celebrations...as long the the celebrant is paying

All this activity on this thread took me by surprise after it has been quiet for awhile . However most of the posts were amusing and informative until I got to Tinderellas post about Hennings football team which I think has gone way way too far in the generosity stakes . Am I correct in thinking they serve the beer in steins over in germany which I believe is a litre measurement . That works out at 33 per cent more expensive than a pint so you can forget the "we must all buy him a drink ( and that includes you phil )" malarky Tinderella . They would have had to have won the champions league for that ever to happen !!

..phil...sorry to dissapoint you but one of the few things i have in common with leonard is that neither of us attach any importance to our own birthday and therefore never feel the need to celebrate it's passing.....but you can rest assured that if i did i wouldn't for one moment hesitate to buy the drinks, just as henning is hopefully going to do when we all gather later in the year to celebrate borussia dortmund winning of the bundesliga....

...i've been memorising their new chant to ensure that henning keeps buying beer well into the small hours....

The celebrants have to buy the beer????
Oh feck! so the drinks are all on me Trish and Henning?

I declared myself a BVB fan and so did Trish after we visitied the stadium in Dortmund. I think I went a bit mad as it was in Dortmund I met Leonard.
Okay I will make a promise.... I will buy anyone a drink that is wearing black and yellow
