The Saturday walking trip will bring us to Dillenburg, where Willem from Orange, founder of the Netherlands, was born in 1533. That's why all proud dutch people have to visit the Dillenburg Tower once in their life. Queen Beatrice was a guest on September 29 in 2000 and had a chat with Alex Loos, the owner of the bar "Erbse". That bar is also famous for Heike's delicious soup, which is offered on Saturdays only. Enjoy.

Ok a new name on the thread... I really was confused for a moment. Soooo, lets get that buzz going.

A fantastic new walking trip awaits by the look of the link. thanks Henning.

Was william of orange that guy that was in Northern Ireland?? Is this the only Irish connection to the area we will be walking.

Anyways, I am sure the Irish will leave their stamp on the area by the time the weekend is over. :D

Bernie - I am not that good in history but I think that was William 3rd of Orange. You can read the full William report here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_the_Silent

...one worry i have is that with the reallocation of the weekend from bavaria i now hear that yodelling is outlawed in the hessen region...if this is true then i have wasted a small fortune on yodelling lessons over the last few months...

....as a life long resident of hessen can you clarify this for me please henning?

My son is home from Uni for Easter hols and using my computer so I am not here much, but as I'm here now how could I not pop in to say - nice one Henning! I imagine the second walking weekend will be as great as the first. You've no mountains though, and as you know it is suffering that binds people together so I hope there will be other challenges. I am strapped for cash at the mo, so will take my chances and hopefully sign up closer to the time.

It has taken ye a long time to realise what is wrong with mour post but I think I have realised mour problem . Mou have the same fault on mour kemboard as I have in that the "y" prints a "m" and a "m" prints a "y" and what mou meant to sam was that mou have been taking lessons on the catwalk and not learning to sing on top of yountains which makes a lot yore sense .
ML
Btw I had an expert out to look at it and he suggested just putting a little sticker over the "y" button with an "m" on it and a little sticker over the "m" button with a "y" on it but that just confused ye even yore

I think it would be difficult to become a stand up as i spend most of the day lying down so I will assume you are having the same problem as Ken and myself but with the letter "a" . Therefore I will take your advice and go on a true vacation for a couple of weeks . See you soon !

ps I really am going on holiday and I will let you all know what it was like when i get back

...i caught your tussle up top with the forum's touchy-feelies and i was (honestly i was) going to jump in with some support but i'm afraid with me being classed as the spawn of the devil himself these days my name would have only attracted even more dissention.....and to be honest i just can't be arsed these days.....anyways of all the folk i know around here you of all people are more than capable of taking care of yourself....best stay down here with your fellow umpa-lumpas and carry on helping out with our particular brand nonsense.....we've been lucky so far but you never know how long we have got down here before someone decides to axe us......i must get tony toenail out again soon to prepare him for our german adventures....ta ken

Cheers Ken - I am back where I belong with people who don't take life too seriously and where you can take the piss out of yourself and others without someone throwing a hissy fit, although I do like a good barney!
