I'm only ten minutes from the house.
I hope it's not chips and beans - again! :?

As for Leonard - camp ???? surely not
Yes... on that note, contingent may have been the better term :) .

Ah yes, terms of endearment. Or entrapment. Or encampment!!! strewth, there it is again, cleverly hidden between my 'en' and my 'ment.'

My brain hurts, which is 'contingent' upon the level of seratonin released between my grey cell and the other one I keep as a spare...

I was really sorry to hear that you had financial problems with the catalogue Lizzy and if it helps I'd be quite cool about collecting it from the gallery for you and would be happy to pay for the postage to the United States.
As Byron has said, the cost of living over here is quite high - I think it's living under a Labour government that has us screwed.
Certainly, as a student, it's not easy to survive on the paltry grants we get. I guess your students are a lot more blessed in that regard.
I'd be happy to do that as you've been more than welcoming here.
I'm sorry that I fell for Dr Freud's little bit of fun at our expense.
Let me know.

Hi DangerMouse ~

As efficient establishments tend to go, my self-granted gifts went out in this afternoon's mail. As I said, money comes and money goes. This money went and is gone. I'll feel better about it all when the catalog and posters arrive. The cost of the posters remains the same @ $10 pounds each.

Your student grant money would be much better spent buying Anjani's cd "Anjani" ~ saving for Leonard's/her new cd ~ saving for their possible tour. if you don't have the cd yet, it's wonderful morning and evening music, for waking up or relaxing at the end of the day.

I'm not sure what's going on with our university-level educational system these days. I know the costs have become astronomical. I've no idea how much the grants and loans have kept up with them.

Thank you for your generousity, DangerMouse.

If "dangermouse" has been a fan of Anjani since "she" was about 14 then it figures that she already has the cd's

DM, I am wondering how you found Anjani 5 or 6 years ago?

For me, a recommendation to buy Anjani's cd is always a great one to make. Listening for all these years, perhaps, it's time for a new one. Surely, the original is worn out. If not, gift someone else with it, since my catalog and posters are already on their way. A clock might be a better purchase, though. The old-fashioned, wind-up type.

I'll leave you two to sort the rest.

Ah, student grants. A knotty subject. Introduced by people who never had to pay back a student grant.

No, not a Labour Government. New Labour is the 'title.' It's a misnomer for political power.
It doesn't matter who you vote for, you always get the government.

I believe that students in the US have to work long hours to support themselves through college and university.

The cost of sending a catalogue will be about £6 GBP (airmail)
The cost of sending a tube with the posters will be about £3 GBP (airmail)
I speak from experience here.

It all got rounded off to $10 GBP and that suited me fine. I didn't realize how close to actual it was... thanks for the info. Initially, the single poster, tube mailing was going to be $9.50 GBP and I believe $10 GBP for the catalog. I believe businesses that mail consider the difference as materials cost and "handling charges." If mailing requires a drive to the post office, the cost of gas would explain any more  .

[Don't know where to add this, so I'll put it here.] I also don't know how uncommon the lower price ['discounted'] items for Opening night... an incentive for people to buy right then and there... may be. It seems like I've encountered that same thing before; just too tired at the moment to recall where.

Margaret & LIzzytish
I think you are both mad at me for something you believe that has nothing to do with me.
I thought I was being helpful making the offer. I didn't wish to offend anyone - that wouldn't be cool nor would I do it so I apologise for whatever perceived slight there is.
Margaret, I explained elsewhere that my dad is into LC music and it was he who introduced me to Anjani's music and to Jennifer WArnes.
I'm sorry you doubted me.
I hope this explains everything.
Thank you.

Lizzie you will be lucky to get the package at all the postmen are on strike

I was silly I only bought the guitar poster 'cos they had run out of the hat posters. I much preferred the hat poster. How many catalogues did they bring in. They obviously underestimated the demand.

 Oh, that's too funny, Paula  ~ haha. My new-and-improved luck  , eh  ? I'll keep you posted on how long it takes :D . I hope some bored mail person isn't seen propped up behind a Gallery catalog.

How close are you to the Gallery, DangerMouse  ? Just kidding :) . And the postal issue would remain the same, anyway  .

Yeah, carpe diem, it seems, for these occasions. Are you saying that you now wish you had gotten the catalog, too... or that you were silly to buy the guitar poster? You're definitely right that they miscalculated the demand... and the showing has a ways to go still, doesn't it? I've forgotten the dates now, but I was thinking it was a fairly long run. Couldn't they get some more catalogs printed? Surely, they could drive to and from the printers, without having to rely on the mail.

Lizzie I got a catalogue and the guitar poster but they ran out of hats. I got bored waiting in the queue and wandered off and when I returned the locust had picked the place clean
