Re: When are the next dates and places?
Yes he is old enough and wealthy enough to choose his own venues and his own terms. But Leonard, remember that in those very early days, when you were on the way up, the UK always gave you a good welcome when some other places were not so adoring, preferring Dylan. So do not forget those that helped you on the way up to where you are now.
At least I think we deserve the courtesy to be told , not when perhaps, but IF you will be honouring us with your presence.

Somebody must have died for you

Re: When are the next dates and places?
My favourite Leonard concert to date was outside... and at a festival (Glastonbury). It wasn't as long a set or perfect a performance as I've seen elsewhere, but I just enjoyed the atmosphere better (including listening to LC virgins expressing their admiration).
So, all in all, I hope he does the right thing and announces Bestival...

Without having to write a dissertation, i will simply say :
Coachella (the festival) is garbage!

I'm still praying for a presale on Wednesday for the third Dublin show. Although I'd also like a new city to be on Sept 21st and I'll be there in an instant!jarkko wrote:We will be able to announce a new city on Monday, with presale on Wednesday.

Excellent! Let it be on the Aug.17-Aug.25 gap... Amsterdam/Hamburg or Dusseldorf would be excellent.
Gonna be with my fingers crossed.

Re: When are the next dates and places?
Okay, we've done Kent (has Hop Farm 2 been formalised, yet?).... Couldn't be London by any chance, could it? (added due to totally unprecedented demand!)
P.S. This will also be in anticipation of Ken Livingstone getting re-elected as mayor, and declaring the Republic of London.

Re: When are the next dates and places?
I think I can safely predict that this still-to-be-announced-concert, and a possible Hop Farm 2, are THE ONES that you can't afford to miss (well, not until the next lot are announced. anyway!).
Re: When are the next dates and places?
New concerts are announced only after everything has been nailed and contracts signed. A long tour like this is constantly under construction, and tentative days are being added and others removed. That's why some concerts are announced later than the others. It's a misconception to think that this is done to sell more tickets at our presales. The total number of tickets for each concert is usually between 5000 and 15000. If we sell some hundred tickets to a concert, it's next to nothing from the local organizer's point of view. They could easily sell those best seats at even higher prices to local nobs. The presales are something extra, and are happening only because Leonard and Robert wanted to give us this privilege. For AEG and the tour management (not to mention ourselves!) this arrangement only brings extra work.
I earlier mentioned that putting up a tour is like giant puzzle - there are a lot of pieces (local organizers in almost every country) who'd like to be a part of the game, but every piece that will be used has to be suitable for the big picture. One of the main issues is logistics - the distance between the cities is essential (one-night drive for the equipment trucks is ideal).
I think the reason why only Hop Farm is included in the UK this year is pretty simple. If everything goes well and the tour will continue next year, UK will be generously treated.
The Monday announcement is for Central Europeans who want to combine some Olympic surroundings with Leonard's concert

Re: When are the next dates and places?
I'm beginning to feel somewhat concerned again for the man at the centre of all this, and whether he's able to maintain his invincibility!
Re: When are the next dates and places?
Mmmm...I suppose that means no beautiful, comfortable, well appointed, raked floor concert halls, rather a preponderance of hockey arenas and outdoor venuesjarkko wrote:The total number of tickets for each concert is usually between 5000 and 15000.

Given the seating parameter, I am hopeful that LC will return to the 7100 seat Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE, a gorgeous theatre with great sightlines and superb sound. Even the intrusive cameras are cleverly hidden. I can't believe it has been three years since I went to LC's concert there. I didn't even own a digital camera back then. So I hope LC comes back (well, does does live here) for at least two concerts again at the LA Nokia.
