This is great news, can't wait to hear the tracklist.
Any news on whether it will be released on vinyl? I have pretty much every album bar Live in London (not released on vinyl

) and Isle of Wight... would love to pre-order this if possible, if any other vinyl-philes hear anything be sure and let us know here!

Outstanding. Perhaps the CD promotion tour will start in Spring. We shall see.

jarkko wrote:Well, there was no tour after the release of Ten New Songs, and no tour after Dear Heather.
So we can't draw conclusions from the past...
release of album in the past = no tour ;
but "no conclusions from the past" = "this time it's different" ?
start counting your euro, dollar, yen or whatever ? ...

Sounds good:
"God willing," Cohen said when asked if he planned to go on tour again. "I never quite know whether there's going to be a tour or not."

OK, let's have a grown-up debate here: Who, in all reasonableness and all honesty, would say that LC will tour next year?
If you were a gambling man/woman, would you bet on it?
I say he will not tour. He's done all that now and we should be grateful. But I really don't think he'll tour either next year or even ever again. From LC's point of view, why should he? He has never been a regular tourer, why start now? Sad, but that's what I think in my heart of hearts.
What do you think?

New album news is great but nothing beats an LC concert, so fingers crossed!

Does anyone know if we can pre-order, and from where? Amazon don't seem to know of it.

It's too early for any pre-orders. Still 103 days to go. I am sure Amazon will take pre-orders as soon as they have details from Sony.
Any news on whether it will be released on vinyl?
Even the concert at Isle of W. was released on vinyl so I am pretty sure the same will happen with "old Ideas"

Leonard has not decided yet, so the discussion is just speculation. Sooner or later we will find out...

"Sooner or later we will find out..."

At this point, I don't think there's even a question IF he will tour. To me, it's just a matter of scale and scope and locations. How difficult is it to picture, say, an eight or ten show tour of Canada? Seems like a slam-dunk to me. Surely, there will be a handful of shows in England and Ireland. I can't imagine him NOT going to Spain again. I could see him doing only a few USA dates-- or even zero. Twenty or thirty or forty dates (overall) is pretty easy to envision. Some huge World Tour seems unlikely, but a partial world tour seems inevitable.
A lot will depend on the format and band make-up. Smaller and quieter will mean smaller and more intimate shows (with gigantic ticket prices). We'll see. When it comes to touring-- In Roscoe I Trust.
For us out here on the rock, we will have to travel regardless. So Sifa and I are aiming for Spain at this point. In reality, though, we will consider it a victory to be able to go anywhere and see him if another tour comes about.

I really think your thoughts about Leonard maybe not touring in the U.S. rather insensitive. After all, although he is still a Canadian citizen, he has, as a lot of us have, chosen to live in the U.S.A. I do understand that he has a great following in the rest of the world, but he also has many loyal fans here who would be very upset if he chose not to perform for us. I just could not imagine this happening.
Let us all hope we can see him in concert again, but if he decides not to, then be thankful we have had a chance to be in his prescence and enjoy his last tour, which was a great pleasure for so many.
