Don't tempt me Gwen, I'm already thinking that maybe Lille won't be enough...

I'll never have enough of Leonard live All the front seats are obviously gone for Katowice but some brilliant balcony ones still available. Gonna get a huge Ireland flag and write something along the line of "Ireland thanks you Leonard for the wonderful memories of Lissadell" on it and if I'm allowed I'll drape it across the front of the balcony for Leonard to see.

I'm really starting to get a sense of being part of a big family here - appreciating the Forum so much!! And Yes, I want to join you, but will be in Spain then having hopefully walked the Camino de Santiago in the previous month ... listening to Leonard all the way on my MP3 ... SO tempted to dedicate a couple of rest days to flying to Lisbon for the Sept. 10th gig!!!
FInding it so difficult to focus on the 'ordinary' today ...

Oh I so couldn't focus today. I'm sure I made loads of mistakes in work today. At least after Katowice I'll be off almost a week and may be able to focus when I go back I love the family feel here and also on FB! Have made so many connections all through our mutual love of Leonard. I've even got a filter on my FB friends so I can easily access any Leonard updates

Hi Musicmania,
I heard the show live so I don't know if it's up yet but it should be.

Up where? Could anyone point me to where I could download (from a non torrent site-can't manage them at all in my ignorance) either or both Sligo gigs? Can't wait to hear them back

After my experience at the Bob Dylan concert last month I wouldn't recommend Thomond Park for music; more accessible, definitely, but back in the stands the sound was loud but not clear. We couldn't make out a word he was singing, and as he changed the melody of the familiar ones we were really lost! I'm not sure how much depends on the sound system there or on the tour sound technicians; certainly the sound in Lissadell was perfect, thanks perhaps to their long and careful afternoon sound checks. LC and friends like to get it right - all credit to them!

I suppose it depends on what is most important. There are lots of venues where access is good and transport is readily available. For somewhere a bit different like Lissadell, there's usually a downside. Having said that, we were lucky on Saturday night - back in town on the bus by 12.45 whereas some of the family waited 2 hours for the bus on Friday night. I think there is another private road on the estate which may be possible to adapt to allow traffic continue in and out without turning so maybe for the future arrangements can improve. I doubt whether the occasion can improve though - as close to perfect as a concert can get!
Don't forget though that with Thomond Park for Dylan, it was a very windy day which was going to make good sound all the harder. Down on pitch level, I was very happy with the sound after a couple of songs. Cracking gig too. Great stuff from Bob and the band but one of the cardinal rules when seeing a Bob show outdoors is forget about the stands. There won't be any screens so it's viral to get as close to the front as possible.

There are not enough adjectives to describe the Leonard Cohen experience in LIsadell. There were people like me who have been fans for 30 + years, others who discovered the Maestro only recently but for each and every one of the 10,000 there, it meant something different and personal. A tribute from one marvelous Poet to another... Soundtrack to a life... whatever it was, for all of us lucky enough to be there it was something special and never to be forgotten. Thank you Leonard, not just for this experience but for a lifetime of music. Much appreciated.
IrishAl, you are brilliant! Delighted to get this. Now I hope you are going to do "I'm Your Man"..... and "Closing Time"..... and ...... and ....... !!!
