A Report On the Habits Of The White Owl.

White owls are nocturnal predators and when not out hunting they can be found perched in a warm dry location out of harm's way, where they can preen and sleep in comfort. Stormy wet weather can keep an owl indoors at night as their specialised feathers for silent flight are not so waterproof. Diet includes small rodents and other pests of grasslands and woodlands. They have been known to venture into urban areas in search of other pesky prey. Recent reports have rumours that a sub-species of the white owl (the witty) has been out hunting for a particularly annoying pest the teeny weeny petty tyrant of cyber lands. Normally an owl will dispatch its prey promptly but these rodents of the petty tyrant variety have been known to be tortured incessantly as the owl plays with its food prior to consumption. It has been claimed that a sincere apology by the pest to for its ill considered remarks can help to avoid such an ignominious fate. Owls prefer to hunt in the familiar territory of its home woodlands but they will venture further afield in search of pests that need to be cleaned out of the environment.

I am not PoetryCop, although i do have this nagging suspicion as to who it is. Anyway, PoetryCop writes marginally better than i do. Does anyone think that i would feel the need to adopt an alias to say something here?

Partisan, do we hear the sound of furious backpedaling? :)

 ~ Loving it, Witty Owl !!!

By the way, I welcomed you back to the branch PLUS wrote an approximate 3-4 paragraph response to yours on your Members'-Poetry-section thread. Only to lose it all with some insane message of "no post mode specified" ~ no amount of Refreshing or Back/Forward buttoning would bring it back to me, so I'll try again, though maybe not tonite :( . The mode I specified was "post reply" or I'd have had no space to type in to begin with! THEN, my only options were to Submit or Preview; either one woulda got me something!!! So, welcome from here ~ and I really enjoyed your International Geographic owl informational ~ LOL .

So Partisan, fess up. What is the identity of your nagging suspicion?
Should we take your denial as being the PC at face value?

Regards,WO.

Byron,

I find you amusing.

All that blathering about "I am asking people to consider the temperate nature of their postings". Do you think the rest of us have forgotten how often you have vented your spleen?

And then (how predictable you are) you always end your tirades by admonishing others to play nice.

tom.d.stiller,

Don't you find it tiresome being Byron's echo?

George Gordon. I see what you write and I 'hear' what you say.
I have often 'vented my spleen'.
All of my contributions are a matter of record.
Like every other human being on this board I am a human being.
Like most people I strive to improve myself in many ways.
I have failings.
I make mistakes.
I am often wrong.
I tend to ramble on at length.
Despite what you say, you are nowhere near as savage a critic of me, as I am of myself.
I acknowledge that you have made valid points about my own postings.
If you trawl my contributions you will find that I have apologised on this board, more than anyone else.
George Gordon, you are pushing at an open door, which everyone else is fully aware of.
You have stated the obvious and I do accept your argument.
You remain a 'heart sink' name on my screen.
We can all give off 'negative vibes,' but you and a couple of others give off more than the rest of us put together.
George Gordon, please count your blessings.

tom.d.stiller speaks his own mind.

His contributions are presented in his own way and with independent thought.
To carry your argument to its ultimate and ludicrous conclusion would mean that the whole forum is an empty vessel, in which there are ocassional ideas expounded by a few contributers, followed by a whole series of echoes.
What I see is yet another posting by George Gordon, consisting of one line, in which he 'has a go' at another intelligent contributer.
Once more, in the words of Donald Sutherland, "giving off negative vibes," as usual.

To all the negative contributers of whatever identity

Post by George.Wright »

Why can we not sit on our own branches instead of trying to peck off others?
There is a thin connection in all of our psyche................in some very thin.
There are an increasing number of negative contributers to this board who ridicule, without mercy the failings of others, AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY.
These people would be well served at looking at themselves.........Let those without sin cast the first stone.
Often these people DO NOT CONTRIBUTE to the workings of this Board unless to crow or ridicule, at any reasoned logic. They must indeed lead very shallow lives and only come out from under the stone to ATTACK.
I would have thought that anyone who admired LC would not fall into this category. It just goes to show you.................
I am a right bad ass, dankish prince and I love my Violet to bits.

George Gordon -

It never came to my mind that I could be perceived as anybody else's echo. But if I had to choose between being your echo or being Byron's my choice would be clear - and then your cryptic remark would be true.

In fact, I "find it tiresome" to read the same kind of negative contributions again and again, but I always stated I consider this as "free speech territory" - so please feel free to continue...

For once let me really be Byron's echo. He wrote:
tom.d.stiller speaks his own mind.

Yes, tom.d.stiller, does, and tom.d.stiller will continue to speak whatever he wants and whenever he wants. This includes the choice of not responding to George Gordon, when tom.d.stiller doesn't have anything to say to George Gordon.

Cheers - and try to make the best possible use of your undisputed right to speak your own mind -

Sandra started this thread by asking:

If you had a site like this devoted to you. Would you feel tempted to answer (under other identity) to all the speculations your person arises?

Well, if I was me I would certainly not be interested in answering, just to see that everyone gets tangled up in trying to fight each other. Questioning every single word said and dragging the lowest perspective out of context. :(

And then again, I must confess that I would be too curious and would sit and watch by the sideline what's going on - just as I do right now.
