I just love reading this " just when I climbed this old mountian side" I feel I where there with you all, some of is so funny, but alas the last steep walking I did was in Orkney, Scotland, and I was fit then. I will just carry on enjoying reading all your adventure's instead.

diane....don't blame me the title of the cd it was tom sakic's idea....i was working under tom's strict instructions when we created the artwork for this show....it's another example of tom's unique croatian sense of humour...

....yesterday i explained to tony toenail how he came to be born on the side of a welsh mountain..and ever since he's got it into his head that he is not only welsh but also the next tom jones...i've been trying to get him to learn a couple of dylan songs but he's just not having it..so i guess he must somehow also have a bit of henning's DNA in him....ta ken

Ah, well you may be right, Bernadine... perhaps, my memory of him on Hydra did not include a cigarette, but I sure thought it did. Well, good to know the Tony will be remaining on the mantle.

Glad, too, to hear that you made it in... it took me awhile and some due diligence and now it rarely happens. Too bad it happens at all, but at least it's gotten better.

A bit of nonsense never hurt anyone . It's a good job I bring a bit of sensible dialog to the thread to balance it up a bit . Great to see you back up and running Bernadine or should that read it gets your back up when you are running . See what i mean about sensible dialog . Happy days !

Earlier this week Liz and I visited Sudbury Hall in our home county of Derbyshire. Whilst there, we wandered into the gift shop and, as usual, Liz went browsing one way and I went another...we always browse separately at our different speeds. I'm a fast browser for fear of buying anything and Liz is a very slow browser for fear of not buying anything. Normally I would complete my browsing in ultra speedy time (my record being 50 seconds in the gift shop at Kedleston Hall) and then I would hover over Liz who is still browsing the first shelf and I would sigh and then say something like, 'I'll wait outside then...no rush' . The 'no rush' bit is my psychological ploy for her to speed up.... but it never works.
But on this occasion, whilst speedily browsing, I found myself in a back room where the books were and one book, on the top shelf, caught my eye. I picked it up and started leafing through the pages. I know I'm a Derbyshire lad but finding a book like this was a bit much to say the least and I suddenly realised that I was alone in the room. I thought, 'what if someone walks in and finds me looking at this book??' I quickly put it back on the shelf and sped back to Liz...who was by now browsing a second shelf.
"Seen anything you like?", she asked.
"I'll wait outside...no rush'
and the book?..........................

You have made me a happy man knowing there are two people who go through the same procedure as both Jean and I when shopping . The only exception to this in our many shopping excursions was when we first flew to Brazil . We were visiting the family of a student who had stayed with us and his brother was a doctor . I explained to him that I had an instense fear of flying so the day before we were due to fly home he prescribed some "happy pills " and warned me to throw them away as soon as i arrived home due to their strength . I cannot remember anything to this day but Jean says I was throwing stuff into the trolley in the duty free shops as if there was no tomorrow . She never wears perfume so the two bottles i bought her are still on the bedroom dresser . Needless to say when I learned of my little "trip" the pills went into the dustbin pronto! .

I'm going to make a special home-made brew, in honour of the birth of little Tony. I'll gladly give it an appropriate name if anyone wants to suggest one. I'll start the ball rolling with 'Tone Ale.'

I'm chipping in with:
Hard as n'ales

I did a brew using fresh toenail and I called it IPA - Inbeer Pale n'Ale
but it's fermented too long and now I'm going to call it Man's Brown n'Ale

Fortunately none of the above prevailed but to continue the story we went to visit them a few years later for Rafaels graduation and once again I was getting very anxious as departure day from Brazil arrived . Raphael's brother would not prescibe the pills a second time but suggested acupunture . Now I always thought this was some kind of chinese mumbo jumbo but being desperate i gave it a go . The results were fantastic and now i cannot wait to board an aeroplane any where in the world . Infact when we went to the Edmonton event I caught six in 14 days . Do not ask me how it has worked but i kid you not it has ! I am not trying to say it would be everybody's saving grace but I would reccommend it to anyone ! Happy days

Ps Jean says she told me everything I did but there are some keys to a lambergini hung on the kitchen wall and she has a permanent smile on her face . At first I thought it was down to my romantic prowess but i am beginning to have my doubts
